I did this one of an associate that retired and became depressed. His job was his life. He ended up committing suicide, a couple of days before christmas. More of my work can be seen at www3.sympatico.ca/jim.rowe2/
This is another self portrait, even though I painted it as a woman, which is another subject, why I paint self portraits which account for most of my paintings, as females. Anyways she sees herself as fat even though she is thin as a rail. More of my work can be seen at www3.sympatico.ca/jim.rowe2/
Its been on the TV now for over three hours non stop, still trying get my head around he is dead.......... Lets hope the rumored new material is released as a tribute to the King of pop. This photo was taken just over 13 years before his death....
Also note its time to remember Farrah Fawcett who also passed away today, the news of Michael Jackson is so huge she is being forgotten.
I commuted 1 1/2 hrs to work each day and hated it. I am now looking forward to an early retirement at a partial pension. I will spend the rest of my life producing art work. Hopefully it sells some day

the day my pad went MAD
I'm ankle deep in human waste
the toilet has been clogged
marrowbone jelly all over the place
I don't even have a dog
the man upstairs he grabs my arm
saying don't I know your dad
all I could hear were the fire alarms
the day my pad went MAD
all I could hear were the fire alarms
the day my pad went MAD
The kitchen has been ransacked
ski trails in the hall
a chicken has been dansacked
and thrown against the wall
in walks this dumb waiter
with a fountain pen and pad
saying how do you want this alligator
the day my pad went MAD
saying how do you want this alligator
the day my pad went MAD
The hamster had been slaugtered
the parrot bound and gagged
the guard dog had been sorted out
and absolutely shagged
the goldfish drowned, the cat was found
kicked around and stabbed
the radio did not make a sound
the day my pad went MAD
the radio did not make a sound
the day my pad went MAD
the pop-up toaster refused to pop
the chandelier was smashed
the starter motor would not stop
the tyres had been slashed
there was no way out of there
I was stuck with what I had
out of order, beyond repair
the day my pad went MAD
out of order, beyond repair
the day my pad went MAD
yesterday I had the place rewired
and slung out all of my junk
a tumble dryer and a two bar fire
and a telephone now defunct
I peeped through the venetian blinds
and the rain fell down so sad
on the broken home I left behind
the day my pad went MAD
on the broken home I left behind
the day my pad went MAD

Remember your favorite pair of shoes as a kid? My brother and I always got Nike's and occasionally Vans ... you know the checker ones. He always took my sticker that came in the box. I think Vans has really gone "off the wall" by putting Hello Kitty on their shoes but my daughters love them and that's what matters most.
34"Wx26"H On the july 1st weekend I will have my art work at the Cobourg waterfront festival www.waterfrontfestival.ca/ . I am assuming that anyone reading this is not Canadian Eh, and don`t have a clue where Cobourg is, but in the next 4 weeks leading up to this Festival I will remind everyone in the area that my work will be there.
I encourage everyone to check out the 3 groups that I have formed.

The art work is of a certain style, so it is a very select artist segment that is invited to exhibit. Also, I run these groups like a directory, with only one sample per artist, this way nobody gets lost in the crowd. And if anyone wants to see more, they just follow the link to the artist`s site.
Rico is a Brazilian "Legend" surfer. I met him while in the water at offthewall.
He broke a world record by surfing the biggest surfboard for like 11 seconds. The board was 28 feet or 8.5 meters.
I think he's the only longboarder that charges offthewall.:O).........Much respect.

Decided to do some Light Painting product photograph. Because in todays commercial environent, everything is photoshop and constructed. If they wanted a light painted product it would be photoshopped in, and this is a shame and hurts the art form. So to help with this problem we light painters have we should start creating product and stock photography using light painting to help bring the art form in to a more commercial environment.
Enjoy!

One of my goals before i leave for Norway is to learn to play and sing Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah.
For you seasoned guitar players out there, this may sound like like a cakewalk, however, for amateurs like me... well i suck at guitar. Haha but i'm working on it.
38"Wx27"H All of these paintings start as a 2"x3" sketch or doodle, I struggle to convince myself that they are even worth painting , I have probably over a thousand doodles waiting to be painted , it isn`t till I have finished the painting that I feel I havn`t wasted my time. And there are alot of times where I am not happy with the painting, untill I see the positive feedback. Flickr has been good for that. Taking the edge off of my self criticism.
