My Future’s so Bright I Gotta
Wear Shades…
Taken on one of our all day adventures at sunset.
Have Fun, Steve
26"Wx30"H Friday January 29. I am going to try and put a new image on every friday from now on. By giving myself this fabricated deadline, I might actually get serious about working at this hobby
Michael you are immortal. With songs, art will continue to live with. Future generations will continue to listen to you. The music will live until the Day of Resurrection. You are immortal. I will continue to live music...

This friday flick is a day early, and it is an older image, I am tied up with an ill family member and am a way behind on my painting and don`t even know if I will be near a computer tomorrow. Thats the nice thing about doing a weekly thing that I don`t get paid for and only a few people follow, I have the flexability to miss a few deadlines.
I encourage everyone to check out the 3 groups that I have formed.

The art work is of a certain style, so it is a very select artist segment that is invited to exhibit. Also, I run these groups like a directory, with only one sample per artist, this way nobody gets lost in the crowd. And if anyone wants to see more, they just follow the link to the artist`s site.
15"Wx17"H I did this a long time ago. I always meant to paint a larger more detailed version, with a background, but havn`t yet. A day after I posted this image, Karen CS-1 noticed the tear in his eye, and could feel his longing, bbanana loved his liquid eye. I painted this 16 years ago, and untill now, have never even noticed the eye. And you are right, there is a tear, it is liquid, and it gives the painting a whole new feeling. I just paint from automatic drawings. Alot of times I have no idea what the drawing I have produced really means. I just paint the image because I like the feeling it gives me.

30"Wx25"H I tried to make this one look like the island was affecting the person in such a way that their hair took on the shape of the tree. The sketch that started it off looked simple enough, but when I got started the painting, It was into alot more work than I had planned. Oh and by the way, this was inspired by an island on Wolf Lake in the Kawartha Highlands Park.
I have an exibit at the "Art Cafe" on flickr at www.flickr.com/groups/globalworldawards/discuss/721576230...
I have judged these images as the top 20 of my paintings.
26"Wx34"H ,Friday January 22, it is another re-paint of an image that is 11 after this. I have pretty well finished the re-paints, there is one more, they are paintings that were done early and I just wasn`t happy with them, some artists would call them working paintings. I have started a series of brand new images so stay tuned.

Off the wall, on a wall...
More AmsterdamPeople (album with candid and non-candid shot of people in Amsterdam)
After a shoot a while back I was walking back to my van that was parked on the edge of a car par and was greated by a fantastic view. It was very starry, not like me to go in while its still starry but I was a little rusty and easing myself back in slowly. I could see the whole milky way and millions of stars.
This was the best sort of shot I could get without distoring my van too much on the wide angle.
I had to bump the ISO to the max to get the stars I wanted, and I used my Iphone torch from a distance to light the van, on such a high ISO the weak phone light did a perfect job. It's not the best milky way photo ever, in fact it's quite faint in the shot but I don't often do static stars and this one made my smile.

26"Wx34"H This is one of my new sketches. Bicycling is a big distraction from my painting in the summer. I look for any excuse to hop on my bike and go for a pedal.

This is a male bird that is trying to hatch the egg all by himself. Somehow he has lost the nest. Sooner or later he will fall asleep and the egg will fall off the branch, but he will prolong that moment as long as he can. Another self portrait. 26"Wx34"H This is a re-paint of an older painting. It is of Bottle Creek in the Kawartha Highlands Park. For anyone that has been to Bottle Creek, this has caught the moment. (And by the way, it is a Canadian Goose landing, not a dinosaur.)

I bought these shoes like a month ago, haven't wore them once yet. I bought them for a trip I'm taking, as the matching shirt and matching jeans are already packed the shoes remain the their box. You can see how beat up the box is. Hahaha.

The book is available at THIS LINK and you can preview it HERE
This book contains drawings, paintings, cartoons, digital art and poems admirers, artists and fans have made and dedicated to Michael Jackson, a man who inspired so many people all over the world to make a real difference. (One of my MJ portrait is on the cover and the 3 other ones I made are also in the book.)
This is a charity project, by buying this book, you will donate money to Mappa Mondo, a children’s hospice from the Red Cross in the Netherlands. Mappa Mondo is a house for children who suffer severe chronic diseases. The vision of Mappa Mondo is that children have the right to a safe environment, a home where they can play, learn, laugh and cry. Every child is unique and needs warmth, support, physical safety and homeliness.
------------
The whole project became a reality thanks to the efforts of Anne Peters, an artist from Eindhoven (The Netherlands), born in 1982. She is a photographer and digital painter, please visit her website for more information: www.conquista-online.com
24"W30"H My wife calls this one, "The Wayward Cow" . I did this sketch the same time that I did my sketch for "Cow in Leather" , 15 years later I finally have the nerve to paint it.

These last 5 paintings were paintings I had done quite a while ago and wasn`t really excited about, thats why they were not added sooner. I am surprised by the positive response. Its good because there are plenty of paintings that I have done and stored away thinking no one would be interested in seeing them. Not to mention , the , over a thousand sketches or doodles, that I have stored away because I didn`t know if they were worth painting. What I am trying to say here is the feedback I am getting on Flickr is giving me a new perspective on my art career .
34"Wx26"H This is one of my alternative paintings, I do all kinds of abstract sketches but don`t follow them through as paintings because of their lack of subject. I seem to be fixated on needing the painting to say something. It is more challanging to produce paintings that speak, that convey a message. Abstracts are more fun though. I will be at the Cobourg art festival on the July 1st weekend.
