Starting at the parking for Annaberg Sugar Plantation, one can walk along the shoreline. Leinster bay is initially to your left and then Watermelon cay and bay come into view. In the far distance we can see Windy Hill where the Windy hill greathouse ruins are.

This is another image of the red barn found in the rural area of Niagara-on-the Lake, Ontario. On speaking with the land-owner to obtain permission to shoot on his property, we learned the main portion of the barn (seen here as just the small section protruding on the right) dates to 1888, and the rear addition (the main part of the barn in this view) dates to 1919, when the then owner returned from the First World War (sort of apropos given we visited on November 11). The barn is in need of some restoration but the colour is simply stunning in its surroundings. The turquoise fiberglass panels cover an area that appears to once have been a 'door' such as was typically used for livestock access to the shelter of the lower part of the barn. Of course, the 'Red Rule' applied and here is the result. - JW

Century Farms and Small Town Charm Along The Elkhorn Scenic Byway in Baker County Oregon

Spent a beautiful early summer day exploring small towns and century farms along the Elkhorn Scenic Byway in Baker County. Baker County is home to more than two dozen Oregon Century Farms and Ranches and the Elkhorn Scenic Byway and back roads along the way, are a great way to explore this working landscape of the American West.

Small towns along the way like Haines and Baker City offer visitors a glimpse at small town Americana at its best.

This scenic byway circles through the Elkhorn mountains of Northeast Oregon beginning and ending in Baker City and passing through small towns like Sumpter, Granite, and Haines. The drive is incredibly scenic with wide open panoramic views across the Baker valley, high alpine forests, and following pristine rivers and creeks along the way. In the winter Anthony Lakes is home to Oregon's highest base elevation ski resort. In the summer the pristine alpine lake is a fishing and camping destination. For more information about the Elkhorn Scenic Byway or other Baker County backroads and Scenic byways visit Baker County Tourism’s website www.basecampbaker.com

Hiking on the Mt. Esja

Iceland

04.06.2019

Crystal Crescent is a stretch of white sandy beaches that goes on for miles and miles. The first two beaches are easy to access, however, there is a third beach that is known to be a spot for "nude" sunbathers to catch some rays. I had never ventured over to this beach before and decided to be a bit voyeuristic and take a walk over. The trail is very easy to walk, took about 1/2 hour and is very secluded. . The nudest were all very friendly, giving a nod or "hello" as we walked by. I am sure they are used to having lurkers wonder over from time to time.

(the photo I took was from a distance on the path leading to the beach. I didn't want to offend anyone by going right on the beach snapping photos)

Osor lies at a narrow channel that separates islands Cres and Lošinj. The channel was built in Roman times to make sailing possible. Now the islands are connected with a rotating bridge. Originally Cres and Lošinj were one island, before the channel was cut.
