Maid of Glencoul was built in Ardrossan for Highland Council in 1976 for Kylesku. Maid of Glencoul has a single car deck with offset bow and stern ramps.
(Kylesku (Scottish Gaelic: An Caolas Cumhang) is a small, remote fishing hamlet in Sutherland in the Scottish Highlands. Until 1984, it was the site of this free ferry. Kylesku is located where Loch Glencoul and Loch Gleann Dubh join to form a sea passage Loch a' Chàirn Bhàin which links to Eddrachillis Bay. It is in the Scottish council area of Highland.)
After the opening of the Kylesku Bridge, in 1984, the Maid became the Corran Ferry. (A passenger ferry (a rowing boat) was introduced Kylesku in the early 1800s. Commercial traffic mainly comprised cattle on their way to central Scotland, and they had to swim across. Over the years various ferries came and went, and small car-carrying ferries first appeared between the wars. It was only in 1976 that the Maid of Glencoul, built in Ardrossan, became the first vessel capable of carrying fully loaded commercial vehicles. The Kylesku Ferry was unusual in being, for much of its life, free.)
She is now the backup vessel at Corran, providing cover for MV Corran's annual overhaul, and for any breakdowns.

The pattern is the Offset Wraplan. The yarn is a three-ply superwash merino handspun that I spun from Spunky Eclectic fiber in the Mandy colorway. Trim is Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino.
It's approx a 6 month size, but I had to futz with the pattern because of gauge.
a continuation of this model, getting a little messy and creased up here. I popped out the corner angles, finding a good way to make them look almost flower-like- then comes equilateral triangles in an offset circle around the center. I need larger paper!

Klässen iD Mercedes Benz W205 C63S AMG on M52R's in Sandstone
The newest addition to the Mercedes-Benz line-up, the C63S AMG fitted on the Klassen iD Competition Series, M52R, features a 19x9 in the front and a 19x10 for the rear. The heat-treated aerospace grade 6061-T6 forged aluminum wheels are machined specifically for the Mercedes C63S AMG, allows for a custom width and offset tailored to any style. The M52R monoblock construction features a split 5 spoke that extends fully to the outer rim lip. Adding to the refined design is our Sandstone finish.

I put a bar with a triangular carbide bit in a cross-slide vise and clamped it to the lathe bed. Then using a Joyner offset chuck I made a series of cuts, indexing the plate by 2 positions (30 degrees) each time. This was not what I was originally expecting, but when I saw what was happening I ran with it all the way around. In this dark wood (bocote) it really needs something in the cuts to make the show. This pattern would probably work better in a lighter wood. The piece is slightly less than 1" diameter overall.
