Apparently someone posted this No Trespassing sign on this tree when it was very young and drove the nail tightly against it. As the tree grew it pushed over the top of the sign. Note the coating over the metal sign is being pushed downward so the 'No' is upside down. Paul tells me the sign will eventually disappear. He said this could have been avoided by nailing the sign loosely to the tree, nailing it to a bigger tree or, better yet, installing it on a fencepost.
