Some may think it's odd that 13 is my favorite number. It was my favorite number long before I found this mini 13-ball while on litter patrol with an Elderhostel group at the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge in Georgia. I took finding it as an omen. It's the only piece of litter that I have ever saved. When it's daylight, I'll go out and try to do a better job of recreating the scene. No sand in the Okefenokee, it's a swamp! Stay tuned. Macro Mondays - February 4, 2020: The Odd One

This theme really struck a chord with me. As I was pondering how to photograph a macro that portrayed my feelings, I looked in my desk drawer and just stared. There was one "odd" black pencil among several "normal" yellow pencils. The black pencil caught my mind's eye. I asked myself, "Why is it different, why is it odd?". It serves the same function, it could write my own thoughts, it could even erase my mistakes.

It stood out and commanded my attention.

The only difference was its color.

Sire Thomas Wildey Monument

dedicated: 1865

Past Grand Master, Sire Thomas Wildey established the American charter for the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (Washington Lodge Number One), in 1819. He was buried in Baltimore's Green Mount Cemetery, in 1861.

Atop the doric column is a life-size statue of the widow Charity (protecting orphans) and two children.

The dado (pedestal) bears bas reliefs of symbols of the Order. On the southern face is the seal of the Grand Lodge of the United States. Carvings of Faith and Hope are featured on the eastern and western facings.

The four emblems of the IOOF are sculpted in the faces of the frieze of the entablature - the three links, the heart and band, the bundle of rods and the globe.

Shot at Keukenhof tulip fields

Nesting low down just above the boardwalk. An odd spot for such a shy bird as it gets quite busy there. Having said that, 99% of people walk right under it without a clue. It does take a bit of spotting.

Odd as odd can be.

So its been a week and a bit since I was last out and about due to work and being on holiday.

I must say its been a little odd in as much as I haven't missed being around but then I have been looking in every few days to see what is happening.

Anyway being away has added a few inches around the old waist so I doubt any of my clothes will fit!

This tree has very-thin branches growing upward. They look like grass. I had to enlarge this image and use the snipping tool because you couldn't really see the detail in the original vertical shot.

Odd Future. Reed Space Pop Up.

Just messing around starting to work out how to make table top images. This first attempt is a real simple light setup with one light on the background (needs more up top) and one 24 " softbox about 8 inches above the glass, with the glass at the back edge to front light the tomato, Base is a granite tile. No photoshoppery on this one, just adjustments to the tones in Lightroom

I considered this one of my less successful quilts but strangley when I put it with a pile of quilts to give several family members this summer they actually fought over who got it......you just never know.

First Glasgow 34402 YX72 OJO is seen working service X85, this vehicle is an odd one out as it was a replacement for an arsoned vehicle in the Glasgow fleet.
