The Grackle was intruding on the RWB's territory and it started off saying as much from the opposite end of the Wood Duck box. The CG was unimpressed, so the Blackbird moved in closer and did this, which I'm guessing was supposed to be an epaulet display but seemed pretty odd. The Grackle remained unimpressed.

Despite the kinda "odd" name, the Odd Fellows seem like a pretty decent fraternal organization.

Yeah I'm gonna have to work out a little (a lot) before I can don my Wonder Woman outfit again...

A moss laden tree among the redwood giants...

I've always had something of a liking for 'odd ball' buses, and late survivors etc, so not unreasonably, A102 RGE is no exception.

Our calling point was the premises of large independent Liddell of Auchinleck, where we met fellow 'Flickrirte' 'Preselected' for a chat, and joint visit. Amongst the large number of well presented double decker and single decker buses and coaches was this Dennis Dorchester with Alexander's TE bodywork which had been new to Central SMT in 1984. The Dorchester, Dennis's competing offering comparable to Leyland's Tiger was never so plentiful, but really was well built in a heavy duty sense. Powered by a mid mounted horizontal Gardner 6HLXCT diesel, they were usually coupled to a Voith fully automatic Gearbox. Few survive nowadays, and I suppose that this one perhaps wouldn't have done had it not found a new role being upseated as a high capacity school bus.

Apparently, it's an art studio and you can take singing lessons here.

I think my front duck was wobbling when I took this pic ;-)..... probably planning his escape!

Sire Thomas Wildey Monument

architectural style: neoclassical, Grecian Doric

architect - sculptor: Edward F. Durang

dedicated: 1865

Past Grand Master, Sire Thomas Wildey established the American charter for the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (Washington Lodge Number One), in 1819. He was buried in Baltimore's Green Mount Cemetery, in 1861.

Atop the doric column is a life-size statue of the widow Charity (protecting orphans) and two children.

The dado (pedestal) bears bas reliefs of symbols of the Order. On the southern face is the seal of the Grand Lodge of the United States. Carvings of Faith and Hope are featured on the eastern and western facings.

The four emblems of the IOOF are sculpted in the faces of the frieze of the entablature - the three links, the heart and band, the bundle of rods and the globe.

This is a pic of some beads I use to make my own jewelry...

The other night I pulled these out to do this shoot (because I love these beads...they're glass beads) and when I saw the odd one...(the blue one) it reminded me of how I (and I'm sure you too) feel at times like the odd one out...whether amongst family, amongst friends or even in a crowd of strangers!

Be happy,be well always, my dear flickr buddies! :)

Not sure as to why this is heading into Portsmouth, but gave me an excuse to get out of the house for 30 minutes. Condor vessels have been refitted at the dockyard in the past, but that's not the case here. as it's due out again at 13:30 today.

Odd Fellow character ,

Two odd men out were acquired by Oxford South Midland from Yorkshire Traction in mid 1982. These were Leyland Leopard PSU3F/4R / Willowbrook 003 which were just over a year old. 47 (KET 161W) is seen at Gloucester Green in Oxford in January 1983 prior to working a journey on route 390 to London via Maidenhead.

In a fleet dominated by Atlanteans, this Daimler Fleetline was certainly the odd man out. It was cheap, so what the hell!

This guy is new around here! I love coming across animals with unusual markings, because it makes it easy to follow them as individuals; their activity, their comings and goings, their interesting habits. I'll definitely recognize this goose every time I see him! He was with a group of about a dozen Canadian Geese, but he's the only one I've ever seen that looks like this. I hope he becomes a regular at our little pond.

Odd Couple- CTA liveried GMC new look bus and Los Angeles Railway F-type streetcar 1160. This rather unusual photo op occurred at one of the Orange Empire Railway Museum's special events. The bus is privately owned and came to the property for a visit during Rail Festival.
