one of the many arches surrounding the walls of the former dining room beneath the beautiful oculus at the JN Adams Tuberculosis Sanatorium in perrysburg, ny. i found it interesting that the paint, wallpaper and wood were all deteriorating but the lights above the arch were maintaining integrity.

I'm Googling for 3rd life or something. Yay! I can't wait for the VR to arrive. Wearing the Oculus and blowing a balloon RL will be so rad. I bet with VR I'll be able to read a book too. Finally. So if anyone tells you "wtf do you need Oculus to stir your soup, can't you do it without?" you shouldn't trust them with their negativity, they only push away the technology cuz they can't afford to buy the Oculus. Go take a walk inside your house wearing the umbrella, it's ok. And maybe.. it's not even your house.

Joking. But the point is to what extent.
It's a real challenge to capture the full range of detail in here due to the contrast in lighting from the darkness of the lower walls to the bright sky above. This image is composed from four HDR bracketed exposures in order to try and simulate the view inside. I'm pleased with the result, but you just have to be there in person to appreciate the majestic scale.
The Pantheon is a building in Rome, Italy, commissioned by Marcus Agrippa as a temple to all the gods of Ancient Rome, and rebuilt by Emperor Hadrian in about 126 AD.
The building is circular with a portico of large granite Corinthian columns (eight in the first rank and two groups of four behind) under a pediment. A rectangular vestibule links the porch to the rotunda, which is under a coffered, concrete dome, with a central opening (oculus) to the sky. Almost two thousand years after it was built, the Pantheon's dome is still the world's largest unreinforced concrete dome. The height to the oculus and the diameter of the interior circle are the same, 43.3 metres (142 ft).

We were in New York City for the 2017 Photo Expo and decided to check out the $4 BILLION transportation hub called "The Oculus". Formally, it's known as "The World Trade Center Transportation Hub".
