Taken during the Scot Kelby Photowalk (2014) led by Richard Parmiter

Late night party picture, I am still astounded by how good the new phones are getting. My 5D is away for repair, I wouldn't have needed it in any case!

Devon Air Ambulance heading out

It's a new October Photo Challenge and the dog is fighting fit and raring to go after ten puppies and a recent op! (no more puppies)

Our new box of Hotel Chocolat arrived the other day, three of each to try. My favourites are the fruity ones, especially raspberry.

Everyone needs exercise

10 October....Rain all day (again) and a bit too busy for photos.... I only managed a few. Here's something surreal. Note no autumnal colours in the trees yet.

The most exciting thing that happened today - the washing capsules arrived. No time for anything better.

Back road from Milber.

From the passenger seat obviously!

A trip into town for my U3A meeting and it was chucking it down when we came out.

I had at least thought up this shot earlier, but I didn't imagine that I'd have only 15 minutes to photograph it in wind and rain after 4.5 hours (again) at the hospital with a poorly child (last time was an injured one!). Not too bad considering the conditions. Camera battery was very nearly flat too!

Ah well, that's the October Challenge done for another year. The group was a little muted this year.

This shot also does nicely for the 52 Weeks: the 2019 Edition's Week 44 theme: Night Scene Photography

Sometimes you have to give a little.....

Shot taken for the Photo-a-day-for-a-month group . This is my photo for 25th October

My shiny cutlery I had at the beginning of the year is starting to get a bit scratched now :( but still good for the odd one or two reflection shots.

42 years after I first heard about it, I finally got to visit Corfe Castle in Dorset. I didn't have my big camera as I hadn't expected to go there. This is a 360° panorama turned into a planetary panorama.

The last shot of the month and I ran out of time... and chairs of the same type!

I love the morning sun at least as much as spiders do.

Macro with the Leica Q. No portrait today. Sorry.

Day 31 October Challenge

Well, I've enjoyed the October Challenge, but sadly the weather was against me today, so here's a pumpkin, obviously professionally carved, not your average effort, spotted and photographed in case nothing else turned up. Well, I guess something did turn up - RAIN!!!

It's been lovely looking at everyone's varied photographs, see you all around!

between the beach huts at Preston sands.

10 October. The 'Devon Cheetah' makes an appearance in the 31 days of October... as is her way. It might not be her last picture!

It's great when you go fishing for moronic illegal green-laners and you hook a classic 1991 Suzuki Vitara. Weighed in at around a tonne.

The state of the world at the moment is heart-rending. There were two protest rallies in the Melbourne CBD today, one pro-Israel, these photos are from the Free Palestine protest.

Whilst no one can condone the recent Hamas acts of terror, the fact that so many governments are supporting the Israel invasion of Gaza, where children and other innocent civilians are being slaughtered is beyond my belief.

We as a human race are so self-destructive.

October a-photo-a-day, 29/31.

My first go with the Oly M1's in-built focus stacking technique. Very pleased with what it can do, although I wasn't prepared for the fact that it would keep all the files that it merged together into one, and there were a lot by the time I'd finished my session.

Photo 8/10 for the October picture a day challenge.

A dismal day, so just a shot through the window for my 19th photo for October Picture a Day. Out of shot were another six goldfinches

The wind turbine stands out against the sunset sky

23/31 October picture a day

Just a quick walk up the road today after 5 o'clock to catch the last of the sunshine.

My spotter informed me that it "might be worth coming to look at the sunset" this evening

A candid of a man soaking up the October sunshine, watched over by a scarecrow.

This is a Grade II listed building and architecturally it is an important house, since it belongs to a short period in English architecture, that of William and Mary who reigned from 1689-1702. This house was built 1698. Still in private hands, but sadly in a very poor state of repair.

Fujifilm X-Pro1 with XF 35mm f/1.4.

Got to Teignmouth beach just before dawn to test my newly rebuilt camera on the Queen Mary 2 in the early light. I forgot that Canon completely reset the settings so these could have been better shot in RAW, but not too bad.

Not much time today for photos and after an uninspired walk along the edge of a field, this caught my eye on the way back home.

Combining three challenges in one:

Take an image a day for October

Take an image a day with a theme in mind

Take an image a day with one of your two fixed focal length lenses

Photo 18/31 October Picture a Day

An outing with my U3A photography group today took us along the River Soar from Mountsorrel to Sileby Lock.

Looking beautiful, but less than a month ago this church was desecrated by a group of teenagers from a nearby town.

We put it all back and cleaned up, but the Police are yet to interview the morons we suspect are responsible.
