Amazing moon rising over the Exe Estuary

Small boys exploring the coastline... happy days. Yesterday we had a morning shot in full colour and today we have the reverse.

A photo outing to Bradgate Park this afternoon with my friend. Not much rutting going on and this one never moved from this spot in the 3 hours I was there and was much photographed by everyone who passed by.

Photo 04/10 for the October picture a day challenge.

8 October. It rained a lot today..... not terribly helpful, and I was pretty busy. I managed to grab a shot of my favourite spinney when I was down near Lifton, West Devon.

The stars came out to twinkle over the town of Exmouth

A quick shot tonight for the October, A month in Pictures group. It was going to be a water shot tonight, but maybe that'll make an appearance later in the month.

8 October. Time for a panorama of South Devon. Centre right is Haytor on Dartmoor, with the town of Chudleigh below. Middle left is towards Bovey Tracy and Ashburton. The smoke is from the Candy Tiles factory near to the infamous Trago Mills (which I had just been visiting)

I'd been meaning to go and see this mural for a while and with other reasons to go nearby, today was the day, even though I had to sit in the car for 10 minutes waiting for the rain to stop.

One of the art works in Shepshed, Leicestershire, just on the side of someone's garage, by local artist Buber Nebz.

Friday Night. Private bar. I donated one more bottle.

A carvery meal necessitated walking it off afterwards around a lake for some bird photography.

Photo 29/31 October Picture a Day.

One of my favourite views, with a full-on sunset, it's a never-fail photo.

Photo 13/31 for the October 2014: A month in Pictures.

Also using this photo for my 114 Pictures in 2014 Project, No. 49. The Weather Outside is Frightful. Cliche shot, but fits.

Torrential rain all day, and I took this shot earlier in the day just in case. Turns out I need to use it.

We recently moved to an Art Deco house. It took me about 5 minutes to work out how to change the bulb in this 1930's light. The glass rods are irreplacable so I might have been taking a risk by taking a shot of their reinsertion into the light after I replaced the extremely rare and hard to find light bulb. Living on the edge!

Francis loves his labrador. His labrador loves him more!

Here's a little surf scene. The sequence had about 7 shots, but I have cut it down to 4 frames to create a composite image. It pays to watch what's going on around you when surfing, The dude flying through the air was quite obviously the best surfer out there, so he avoided the collision, but it put him off enough to come off the board in grand style!

How long should you spend editing one photo before you give up on it? I don't know, but I left it at that after half an hour! I only had one chance to get the shot and it seems this is the photo I want to use for today after checking the others.

A walk out this afternoon but it's so grey and dull out there. Thank goodness for some autumn colours.

I missed the sunset as I was surfing, but this dusk wasn't too shabby

I was going to do a panorama for today's shot and indeed I did one, but for some reasons PSE13 won't stitch it together. It goes through the motions, but the panorama isn't there at the end of it (?) So I abandoned that and checking what other shots I'd got, saw this one and thought the shadow behind the window looked like someone in a top hat.

Photo 9/10 For the October Picture a Day challenge.

Fujifilm X-T1 and XF35mm f/1.4R

Apparently if boiled enough.... you could eat some. I don't think so!!

A visit to a friend and call in at Charnwood Lodge on the way back. I'd only taken two photos when my foot went down a hole and I fell over. My leg hurt so as I was on my own thought I'd better head home. All OK but leg a bit sore, and, importantly, camera is OK.

Photo 4/10 October 2023 A month in 31 Pictures.

Jaipur jogando amarelinha (chama-se macaca em Portugal? É isso mesmo?). Para o desafio de outubro do grupo Cherry on Top!

Jaipur playing a child's game - I think it is called hopscotch in english (please correct me if I'm wrong). Made for the October challenge of the group Cherry on Top!

Desperate for today's shot = chuck work bag on the floor and rattle off a handful of frames!

Today the crafters in the village installed their handiwork in the churchyard. This is just one small part of it.

Photo taken for October - a Month in 31 Pictures Group.

Photo 1/31 - Giant Sunflower. My sunflower was about 10ft tall, and the flower about 1ft across. It was past its best so I chopped it down as Storm Agnes was due and I didn't want it crashing down into the conservatory. My early 'banker' shot has proved to be the one I need today for Day 1.

Photo-a-day-for-a-month Group :-)

It was hotter than a summer day in Devon today, phew!

Willow doing her fawn impression!

After yesterday's westerly view, I thought I'd try the easterly one today. There's a very faint rainbow, I missed capturing it properly

Updating this photo for my website.

I've been creating photo books of my street art obsession since mid-2013 and recently completed Volume Twenty, I love pulling one off the shelf and flicking through the 240 pages of gorgeous street art each one contains. It's such an ephemeral art form, having a record is very special I think.

October, photo-a-day challenge, 26/31.

It's hard to compete with my 365 shot of the day... but here's another beach scene for the October Challenge

Day 25 October Challenge

Two knitted dragons sitting on the font at St. Peters Church Sudbury - now de-consecrated and re-named Sudbury Arts Centre. We popped in to have a look at the Suffolk Witch Trials Exhibition - what they had to do with it I have no idea!!!

An experiment with natural lighting and reflections. Shot with a Lensbaby Double Glass2 lens.

My October 3rd photo for the October Challenge.

50/115: Interpretation of a Famous Painting. Photo taken for the 115 Pictures in 2015 Challenge, and also 20/10 October Picture a Day.

I've been looking for a while for a painting to interpret for this challenge, but in the end have gone for one of the most well known - The Scream by Edvard Munch, painted in 1893.

Day 26 October Challenge

Very anti buying things early for christmas, but I just had to rescue these girls from the garden centre today - there's one each for my friends, with whom I used to work, and I'm bagging the bigger Mummy one, My friends and I always used to laugh a lot together at work, and so we became known as The Cluckies. I had to get them, didn't I?

Ed foolishly left his motorbike here... damn he's still got the key!
