I had a last-minute shoot with my boy Young Gonzalez....an emcee that hails from Seattle, WA and is now living in So. Cal. He came to chill at the studio and we decided to pack up some lights and head outdoors for some promo shots for his soon to be release album. It's gonna be dropping soon, so make sure to check it out and pick it up! He is on a war path and on a mission to put his music out for the world to see. We both really liked this shot, albeit he in color and me in B&W. However, you look at it, I think it came out great. Catch you all on the flip side....Peace

Enjoy,

Hector

A Girl And Some Tunes: The Girl Who Hunts The Dead

Queen Adreena "In red"

www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3Ik3fkaks0

She's a young woman and she's a vampire hunter. Lately she heard those vampire monsters attacked a colony in wild territories. She decided to travel to this place to see if she can do something about it. But when she arrives, she realizes the worst may already have happened.

As she enters the building, she feels the air getting cold.

It seems that there's no sign of life left here.

She suddenly hears some noise, so she decides to search the place.

She finds nothing, but there's still a big room that she must check...

Another episode in the "A Girl And Some Tunes" series. This one is inspired by the anime "Blood The Last Vampire" and the movie "Suckerpunch".

Stay tuned, there's more pics to come!

Had some issues fixing some hair so I decided to crop it 16:9 cause I did like this shot. So that's the reason for the black borders at the bottom. Just to keep it the same as the other pics. Thoughts?

a very quick studio session today.....because, the, um, studio was about 38 degrees. I am ready for spring or a heated space! eyes got a bit too sharp after upload

An evening playing with strobes at SCC. (among the many other activities of the evening). Strobes were set up and metered.

Sir Cumference stood dutifully in his magnificent but rusty armour as the strobes went off in the darkness around him.

Strobist Set-up:

On camera left and behind the tRusty knight was a Cactus RF60 flash in a gridded Photix 80cm Octabox to give a soft rimlight on the knight. On camera right and behind the knight was a bare SB-900 with a Cactus V6 transceiver for a harsher rimlight. This was also intentionally kept in the frame. A silver reflector to the right and in front of the knight was used to push some fill back into the front.

Edited in Lightroom CC. Colour temperature and tint was adjusted to produce the purple hue.

Flashpoint AD200 in a Glow Parapop 28" octabox set camera left at about 1/4th power.

Meet Mick AKA Mick O' Doesn't Know, I met him at our get together in Hollywood and he was kind enough to hang out with us for a few hours. I had the chance to sit and talk with Mick for a little bit and find out a little more about him. He is a lover of film and is shooting a lot more film than digital these days. He is a shy, quiet guy but opens up when you get to talking to him a bit more. Although, I am sure that after getting to know him even more he will be a wild party animal! He has shot for various publications and blogs such as Yahoo Music!, Grooves Magazine, and has some photos up in The Las Vegas Hard Rock Cafe...(the stories I have from that place)! He loves shooting live music and, myself being an ex-pro drummer am drawn to his work. He is able to capture the raw energy that artists bring and leave on the stage! His street shots are also amazing and I am glad that he volunteered for my project and that I found his stream. Check out his work and stop and say hello, and bring peanut-butter dipped ice cream, he will thank you!

Enjoy,

Hector

so this is what Barefoot Hope is about. in brief it is an organization ran by one of my best friends Zach Simmons. he meets every week down town to provide food, drink, and clothing for the homeless along with what ever else he in his power can provide. its not all about just items its about showing the world isnt full of people who just view the homeless and needy as walking toll plazas its a different view and testament. a simple one, show God's love and share his message as well as his blessings.

now having said that zach hit me up this week to come down and shoot christmas card photos for the needy and homeless families/people. this week it was just me alone and next week ill be shooting with Gage Young. zach after getting these will frame and ship them for all the families to their loved ones and children/grand children. maybe it will spark an inspire their families to help them and give them some love of their own.

* to be honest all this was worth meeting all these wonderful people and putting a smile on their faces or making them feel like a glamour model/GQ model for even a few minutes, def brought a tear to my eye.

So running late for this shoot yesterday I had to scour the area for anything interesting. Trust me, Prattville AL is nothing special. Their TM suggested using the bowling alley so I gave it a look and saw the curtains leading to the maintenance area behind the lanes and the staff was pretty willing to allow us to shoot back there. It was most definitely one of the coolest places I've shot by far. Never been back there and I always wondered what it looked like!

this is my buddy Steven he's a solo artist who dabbles in a lot of genres with some crazy range vocally. he hit me up for some new shots for the new project he's been involved with. he already has a few labels interested in his talents so we will see what happens with it.

Location #2 info: we had to wait an hour after our first location at the lake area to hit up this swing set. the play ground was still packed with little kids all around us funny fact these 5-10 year olds used worst language then we ever had sounded like a bunch of sailors on leave. but any ways sun setting behind left etc etc. and this is what we came up with.
