Day 47:
Okay, kind of dramatic. I can't help it, I like dramatic lighting. Adds an OOMPH. So Diablo 3 is open beta now... I've played through it twice already and I have to say.. IT IS AWESOME <3 I brought up D3 because it was influenced in today's self portrait. In the log in screen, the creatures are silhouetted but lightly lit in the from but have this harsh back light on them. This is my take on it
Setup:
-Bower SFD728C by itself behind me.
-Yongnuo YN560 @ 1/2 power fired through a 36" Octabox.

tomorrow, never comes.
forever, falling down.
I remember those moonless nights, when forever was in our eyes.
But our promise never saw the sun, and I won't sleep 'til the morning.
Forever never saw the sun.
we loved, we lost.
Forever never saw the sun.
forever, never.-Dead Hearts

Model: Carolyn
Make-up:Kym
Strobist: 1 x SB-24 in Octabox to camera left, 1 x SB-24 firing into white brolly camera right for fill. Don't remember settings so I won't bother guessing.
Carolyn had barely started working for us (2 days) when Kym collared her for modelling work. The poor girl endured 90 mins of make-up and hair work before being introduced to the concept of modelling poses. A superb sport and a fast learner.

So running late for this shoot yesterday I had to scour the area for anything interesting. Trust me, Prattville AL is nothing special. Their TM suggested using the bowling alley so I gave it a look and saw the curtains leading to the maintenance area behind the lanes and the staff was pretty willing to allow us to shoot back there. It was most definitely one of the coolest places I've shot by far. Never been back there and I always wondered what it looked like!
I always thought this was a rad photo of my brother.

Super excited today. I have been working hard the past 5 weeks to eat healthy and get into a exercise routine. I have been able to lower my insulin by about 70 units a day.
Two weeks ago my Doctor took me off my blood pressure pill. Today he took me off 1 needle and reduced the others again and also cut my cholesterol pill in half and last heart pill in half.
He is completely blown away by how well I am doing. I have lost 15 lbs now and for the first time ever may have a chance of getting off needles and just taking a pill for diabetes if I continue to improve. That is HUGE! motivation to work hard.
Have a great day friends

A Girl And Some Tunes: The Girl With The Magic Lantern
The Cure "Lullaby":
www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijxk-fgcg7c
A young woman found an old lantern in her deceased grand mother's attic. During her childhood she often told her this lantern was magic, and forbid her to touch it because she claimed it was dangerous.
Now she had received it as an inheritance, she decides ta take a walk at night in the woods with the lantern. "Maybe a genie of the lamp will appear" she thinks as she enters the woods.
She hears some strange noises coming from a small river that runs near the edge of the woods. She approaches the riverside to take a look at it.
She sees nothing, the night has become too dark. She decides to enter the woods, even if it will be darker there, there will be no more risk of falling into the water.
After walking during a while into the woods, she finds a rock where she can sit. But as soon as she is sitting down, the noises are coming back. She looks carefully but she can't find any direction where it might come from.
She kneels down on the ground. She's disoriented, she doesn't know where to look, so she looks up and starts staring at the moon.
But soon she feels spied on and she stands up. A little rattle and hum comes from somewhere in those woods and she wants to find it...
Another story in the "A Girl And Some Tunes" series. Let's follow the girl with the magic lantern in her adventures. Stay Tuned there's more pics to come!

One from earlier in the year that I just got around to editing. Zoey was being her silly self and playing on her bed, pretty sure she was singing some silly songs while she played as well. She also stole my WhiBal card which she loves to play with for some reason.
