Objective 2: Creative Exposure
The camera mode I used is Manual because I needed to change all the settings to make the photo darker until the flash went to eliminate streaks of blur.
I used F/11 so the entire photo would have a greater depth of field.
The shutter speed I used is 1/2000 because I wanted the shot to be fast enough to make the photo dark enough for the flash.
I used ISO 200 so my photo would less grainy and more focused.
Exposure compensation and why it was used: None was used.
I used a 55mm focal length because I want to capture the area around the vegetable and the vegetable itself in the image while keeping it focused and sharp.
Objective 3: Elements and Principles of Design
The principles of design that I demonstrated in my photo are Emphasis, Movement, and Contrast.
Emphasis: The background is completely white and clutter free which brings attention to the red pepper that is being dropped into the water. This makes the red pepper the main focus of the photo keeping the eye from being distracted from it.
Movement: The red pepper was dropped in to the water forming bubbles around its self. This effect draws the eyes down the middle of the photo and the red pepper.
Contrast: The overwhelming light from the back ground draws the eyes to the darker side of the red pepper.
The elements of design that I demonstrated in photo are Tone, Form, Space, and Colour.
Tone: Is created by side lighting created by a flash on the left which gives the lighting on the red pepper a transition from light to dark which gives it a look of soft side lighting.
Form: The shadow on right of the red pepper and the harsh light on the left give definition to the groves and edges of the red pepper.
Space: The positive background of the photo brings attention to the red pepper as it falls into the water and outlines the dark edges of it.
Colour: The bright white background brings attention to red pepper and the dark shadows on it .
Objective 4: lighting
I used hard side lighting to bring attention to the groves and edges of the pepper and to also brighten the background.
Objective 5: Post Production
In my photo I increased my whites and my blacks to brighten the background, I also added clarity and sharping to bring more definition to the vegetable.
Objective 6: Critique
I like the lighting and angle I used for my photo I think they are what make the photo but I wish I would have tried different types of fruits and located the vegetable more to the rule of thirds.
Objective: create anything we want. no other guidelines or directions were given. I honestly never took a picture for this project but I found an old one and edited it.

The railings in this photo make this an example of leading lines. When it was first taken it was very warm. I could not get it to look right with just a cooling filter so instead I added an overlay.
Objective end of the scope. I really like it so far. Nitrogen purged, Etched reticle. One piece tube. Nice solid clicks on the knobs.

Objective 3: Composition Techniques – Use the guide on the website
1. Rule of Thirds: The focal point of the photo is the arch on the fence. The eye is drawn there because it’s not right in the middle but off to the side using rule of thirds. The background is also blurred and the arch is clear so it stands out even more.
2. Perspective and depth: I took this photo from a low point of view which is how we wouldn’t normally see the fence, doing so gives it a different perspective. It also looks bigger in the image due to how close up it is. The photo also has depth because you see most of the fence and it goes far back creating a deeper image.

4. Backgrounds: the background in this photo is a forest but it’s blurred out so it doesn’t distract from the fence and leads your eye to the focal point. It’s also a dark colour while the fence is quite light, making the fence standout more. It’s also
5. Leading Lines: The leading line is the fence it can be seen as leading to the focal point/ arch of the fence helping it pop more, or it goes to the end of the photo and fades out.

Types of lighting and how they contribute to the image: the lighting in the image was outside which is quite soft so it doesn’t look to harsh
Objective 5: Post Production (resize, contrast, sharpening, and others you have done)
Corrections/adjustments made:, I resized the image to 1000 so it fits on flickr. I also sharpened the image so its more clear and stands out more. I also added a little contrast so that the brights and darks work with eachother and make the other pop.
Objective 6: Critique
Analyse your photograph for strengths and areas for improvement (consider composition, lighting, exposure, overall feel, etc.)
Strength: I think the strength in the photo is the depth and perspective because I think it’s a different way of seeing the photo rather than a different angle. I also think the colours help to compliment and make the arcg standout since its so light against darks.
Area for growth: I think I could be more steady because I would like a sharper image. I also would like to aim for a less distracting background because I don’t like the trees in the background.
