+ I like how spooky it makes the jack-o-lanterns look. I used the plastic wrap filter twice on this photo and the grain filter once. overall i like how it turned out.
- The pumpkin on the rights left eye is starting to splurge with itself

+ The picture is more interesting because of the filters that were used
- The filters that were used draw attention away from the subject

I seriously loved shooting my whole jewellery collection for these photos =)
This pair of earrings is my favourite pair (for now, me thinks), because, as with the necklace before, it is made of Russian red gold. But, the main reason why I like wearing them (even thought one is slightly bent) is because everyone seems to comment on them - so they get more attention than I do ;)

Objective 3: Composition Techniques – Use the guide on the website
4. Backgrounds: For the background I had to get closer to the flowers than I thought I would have to, because I wanted it to seem like there were more flowers than there actually were (it was a teensy little patch of them) so I got close and took the shot, and it looked how I wanted. There seems to be a large group of flowers that continue into the background.
6. Pattern: The pattern is the repetition of the flowers throughout the photo, which helps to add to the feeling I wanted in the background.
9. Colour: The colour in the photo is analogous, which makes the photo seem more peaceful, and adds a natural feeling to the photo. If it was not analogous it would seem more chaotic (not in a bad sense, because when green and pink are in a photo it is a balanced chaos since they are complimentary) but the green and yellow makes this photo seem relaxed.
12. Balance: If the flowers that are in focus were the only flowers in the photo, it would seem less balanced because there would be nothing occupying the space left empty where other flowers normally would be.
The objective of the 2019 Adebayo Adedeji Memorial Lecture, therefore,,is to raise issues that will help policymakers to
disentangle the hype from reality in order for them to make evidence-based and reality-informed policy choices and decisions. The Lecture will interrogate ideas, identify action areas, and propose tangible suggestions for debate and consideration by policymakers. It will help to increase awareness among African policymakers of the promise and perils of the digital economy and promote high level dialogue on these issues.

This is the origional bridge taken by the Glider troops, a new Bridge of similer design stands near to where the bridge stood, but the modern one is a lot wider...
This is a color version of nothing more than a happy accident. I liked the orange and red tones, contrasted with the white circles. I I happened to catch this reflection in of all things a soup bowl. You will notice inside the circle are actually reflections of branches outside. They bounced off a lantern on my countertop through a colander into the bowl of soup, left to soak. I thought it looked so interesting and could not pass up putting it on here.
On the 27th of July, we hit the road with one objective--to have an epic adventure in Southern Africa. These photos tell the story of our travels through Kruger National Park and Mozambique. During our 10-day trip, we explored some of the most pristine beaches in the world, spotted four of the big 5 during our safari in Kruger, ate prawns at the Maputo Fish Market, partied at the Bunkers in Morrungulo, swam with whale sharks and attended the famous Full Moon Party at Dino's Beach Bar in Tofo. Thanks to all the legends who joined us on this incredible trip. It was yet another unforgettable adventure in paradise!

Multi-Stakeholder Consultation workshop on Strengthening National Food Security Information Systems in Iraq
(RFSAN) 14-15 March
Baghdad 21 March 2017: The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Representation in Iraq (FAO) hosted in Baghdad on 14-15 March a multi-stakeholder consultation workshop on Strengthening National Food Security Information Systems in Iraq. It was organized by (FAO) Representation in Iraq and the Regional Food Security Analysis Network (RFSAN), which is a partnership between FAO and iMMAP in Amman, Jordan, and funded by USAID and FAO to promote, improved Food Security and Nutrition Information Systems (FSNIS) at country and regional level. The main objective of the meeting was to review the food security information systems in Iraq and to discuss future capacity development.
In his welcoming address Mr. Fadel El-Zubi, FAO representative in Iraq, greeted all participants from Iraqi ministries, government institutions, academic institutions, NGOs and private sector. He stated that the main objective of this workshop is to look into the food security information systems in Iraq, and to discuss the strengths, weaknesses of mechanism of collect and analyze such information. The key question is how to address the relevant stakeholders’ capacities in this field in the future. The outcome of analysis of food security information decide what actions and funding are required to achieve a sustainable food security system, as well as assist FAO to attract the attention of donors to this important issue in Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq.
Dr. Hussein Ali Saud, Adviser to Iraqi Minister of Agriculture for Livestock Activity, emphasized that FAO is the main partner with our ministry and we do appreciate their stated efforts to accomplish an integrated food security system in Iraq. This project aims to establish the needed database on food security. The Food Security information System (FSIS) will provide the Ministry of Agriculture with essential information in the food security database. This is a substantial step for future planning to improve the Iraqi capacity in food security information systems.
Mr. Rene Vrduijn, FAO Chief Technical Advisor for RFSAN, provided an overview on RFSAN programs, visions, goals and achievements in the sub-region (Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Jordan), which is affected by the Syria and Iraq crisis. Vrduijn also explained the objectives of this consultation meeting to all participants in order to improve the food security information systems (FSIS) in Iraq and thus in the region.
This workshop was attended by (36) participants from Iraqi ministries, government institutions, academic institutions, NGOs and private sector. Following the group discussions, participants made fruitful recommendations and prioritized various needs for capacity building. The recommendations and priorities set by sector will therefore constitute the next step of engagement with Food Security and Nutrition (FSN) institutions for capacity development activities.

Objective 3: Composition Techniques
Perspective and depth: shooting the plant straight on and zoomed in adds detail that the human eye normally wouldn’t pick up from standing above the plant.
Fill the Frame: The bush is the only thing in the photo and it takes up the whole space. This helps the photo because berries are naturally small and having other things around the plant would be easily distracting.
Backgrounds: Having the blurred leaves as the background adds warmth and unity to the photo without being distracting.
Leading Lines: The main branch leads from the bottom left corner to the top right causing the eye to flow through the entire picture easily and comfortably.
Texture: The wrinkles in the berries add interest for the eye and realism in the photo overall.
Colour: The warm tones in most of the leaves contrast with the darker, cooler tones of the berries making them stand out more. It also causes a bit of a darker mood rather than if the berries were bright and plump.
Objective 4: Lighting (side, back, soft, hard, fill)
Types of lighting and how they contribute to the image:
Soft: There are no harsh shadows and all the colours can be seen true to the natural colours
Side: There is a slight lightness coming from the right side of the photo where the sun was angled
Fill
Objective 5: Post Production (resize, contrast, sharpening, and others you have done)
Corrections/adjustments made:
I cropped the photo a little bit to get rid of some distracting features that didn’t fit with the picture.
I sharpened the photo
I added contrast to the photo to add more natural warmth
I used the healing brush to remove some berries that seemed out of place
Objective 6: Critique
Strength: I think the positioning of the branch was a very good choice. The colours complement each other very well.
Area for growth: If I could take this photo again I would probably use the lighting and focal length more to my advantage to give a little more dimension between the different parts of the plant.

Objective 10.02: Identify military, political, and diplomatic turning points of the war and determine their significance to the outcome and aftermath of the conflict.
This photo can be used in two ways. First, it can introduce a basic lesson on the end of the Pacific campaign in World War II. However, it can also be used to introduce a discussion about whether or not the United States made the right decision in choosing to drop the atomic bomb and what effect it had on international relations during the Cold War. Students should be able to understand both sides of the atomic-bomb argument
