This project revolves around the concept of private and public. By taking ordinary objects from the streets of New York and using them as primary materials for a building, I proposed a unique art gallery/hotel where people could admire pieces of art made out of everyday objects and enjoy New York from a different perspective. After picking the site, I had time to investigate the surroundings and found a lot of good ordinary materials left on the streets. I found car tires, a washing machine, a broken lamppost and numerous other resources that could be recycled. The gallery part of my project would be the house of an artist. This house connected to the hotel would have glass walls on one side so people could see how the artist works and lives surrounded by their work.
This was found attached to the top of a Sallow leaf in Chambers Farm Wood, Lincolnshire UK. It is smaller and thinner that the one found in Horncastle (see this image) and the uppermost end was closed.
