Rattling along at near 90mph by this point numerically paired 4-CEP units 1612 + 1611 run downhill east of Marden at Godden Cottages Foot Crossing on the 26 mile dead straight between Tonbridge and Ashford across the Weald of Kent. The 8-car formation is forming train 1V16 09.15 London Victoria to Folkestone Harbour which will connect with the 11.15 Folkestone to Boulogne ferry sailing. This was the last year of full boat train operation to the Channel ports as Eurostar started a limited passenger service through the Channel Tunnel from November of 1994 and in a short space of time this killed off the Rail-Ship-Rail market to mainland Europe.
The last numerically in the fleet of WrightBus StreetDecks ordered brand new for the Ipswich Reds division of First Eastern Counties. 35926 is seen at Landguard Fort waiting to return to Ipswich on a 77 service, seen with the Evergreen shipping container peering into the background.
I take a shot under her gown. Because I'm not like this other... Because I want to be original... I want to try new experiment.
Have a nice week every one!
Numerically the last, RCL2260 has been preserved since 2000 when she was repainted back into the Green Line livery, she is still active and has been used when the London Underground have been on strike and heritage running days.
In the NBC green she is departing on the long trunk rte "405 W.Croydon - Crawley".
In numerical order, 50007, 044 and 049 head for Preston on 0Z34 from Kidderminster 05/09/21. This is to go on the front of the GB21 tour
Hillingdon Council replaced its BLs on route 128 with three Nationals (LS222, 236, 240) in July 1988, repainted into the special livery of red and yellow with prominent lettering for the service. They would be joined by a pair of Leyland Lynxes, the Nationals successor, in December 1988.
LS222, numerically the first of the trio is seen here.
The final numerically of the 70 strong VT Class, VT70 is seen here a super side ad for Aer Lingus and their reasonably priced trips across the Atlantic to the USA

Numerically consecutive 70009 and 70010 sit outside the rear of Shed 7 at Leeds Midland Road as the rains came down - there might be a reference to a band and a song in there somewhere as well.
In my experience, Tawny is the least likely of the five regular breeding owls to be spotted out in daylight, yet numerically they are the commonest species. They usually tuck themselves away in holes, or among ivy, possibly to avoid hassle from other birds, which usually mob them. But they are creatures of habit, and there are a small number of well-known Tawny Owls that regularly sit out in the same open spot. This is one of those well-known Tawnies that inhabits an ash tree in suburban Sheffield. There were no other birders or photographers present when I visited but everyone walking past knew about the owl, and someone in a white van bellowed "toowit-toowoo" at me as he drove past. Their large eyes are adapted for night vision so they usually keep them closed in daylight, but this one would periodically take a peak at what was going on. This was even in bright sunshine, which must be difficult as their eyes always appear black unlike most other owls which can reduce their pupil size eg this Long-eared owl in sunshine: www.flickr.com/photos/timmelling/41752996645/in/photolist I suppose it must be like if we have an eye examination using atropine to dilate our pupils we are advised not to drive for hours afterwards because everything would look "overexposed".
And the title? Bruce Springsteen of course, although Manfred Mann's Earth Band recorded a version in 1977, and it was also the title of an enjoyable 2019 film about a Springsteen obsessed Asian teenager growing up in 70's Britain.
Numerically the the last Trident delivered new to Blackpool Transport 332 was involved in a heavy rear end collision a few months back. After repairs it has been repainted in a heritage livery to mark the 30th anniversary of Blackpool Transport becoming a stand alone company from the Council, who still own it.
I had always struggled to get decent photos of Knot [or Red Knot if you are from North America.] Numerically they were the commonest wader on the Dee Estuary when I was growing up with flocks numbering tens of thousands.
When I moved to the northeast, slightly smaller numbers were commonplace on Lindisfarne. But not any more. I haven't watched on the Dee for a long while so I can't speak for theree but we have thousands rather than tens on thousands in Northumberland now and I had never managed a good photo.
I spoke to my friend Chris Barlow [have a good look at his Flickr page and be astounded by what a great all-round naturalist he is] who recommended Boulmer and I selected a very high tide mid afternoon and mid week [a lucky day off work] and it worked our perfectly. The approaching tide pushed the birds off the rocks and although there were dog walkers who disturbed them I got lucky and photographed both these and Grey [Black-bellied] Plover.
Strathclyde PTE LA1351 was the first numerically of the large 79 strong batch of (RDS/W) Leyland Atlanteans to arrive in Glasgow during 1980 entering service from ibrox Depot. By 1982 it had moved to Parkhead depot and was wearing this overall advertising livery for Video 1 as the Sony Colour Bus when seen here at Shetteston terminus on Sunday short working of the 1 service to Hope Street.

Although numerically the batch after 89s and before 49s, the batch of nine for 28s will now enter service after the 49s, expected to commence early in July.
480 is pictured fully branded and ready to go at Keltruck.
Although numerically surrounded by quite a few withdrawn sisters, 4445 continues to give service to Wolverhampton for the time being, and is seen on the usual haunt of route 79 here as it completes the journey in West Bromwich.

This is the begining of the serie I've taken in my steph mother garden. This is one of the Tulip we brought her back from Amsterdam :)
Deep in her tought I catch this portrait. She is wondering what is this huge object i'm pointing at her.
This is another try with the 200mm.
This morning I'm up at 4 to go to work with a colleague... In Paris today is Strike Day!
Flamboyant... This tulip is like a flower in fire. She is also from Amsterdam :) A nice present for a French garden!
Numerically the last of the green Swifts, SM 538 is at Northfleet Garage on 2 February 1980 by which time it would have been close to being taken out of use having been a driver trainer for a short while. The original livery looks so much nicer than the insipid NBC green.
The gray squirrel is numerically the most common squirrel on the East Coast. Gray squirrels are also known as black squirrels. This guy is from Williamsburg, VA. I also like the old fence with the hitching iron.

Partons Vite - Kaolin :
Allez danse, danse, regarde-moi
Allez danse mon amour ! Allez danse !
Faisons de nos enfants des droits !
Fait tourner le monde mon amour, fait tourner le monde
Allez danse, danse, retourne-toi
Allez tourne, tourne, ne t’arrête pas
Allez partons vite, si tu veux bien, dès le jour
J’ai manqué d’air je m’en souviens,
Toutes ses années sans toi sans rien
Même mes chansons se baladaient le cœur lourd
Evidemment, tu l’aimes encore,
Ça crève les yeux mon dieu, ça crève les yeux mon dieu
Mon dieu….

Yesterday was a numerically insignificant anniversary of my birth (assuming you ignore that bit in the picture from yesterday where I went on about reaching an age I remember my grandmother being), so I took the afternoon and ran up to Illinois Beach State Park in Lake County, just south of the Wisconsin border. I walked around in the snow and ice for a while, stopping every so often to set up my tripod and take a picture of myself in a position that looks more precarious than it is. I'm on ice next to the lake, but it's sitting over the beach. I might break a leg if I fall through, but I won't drown.
If you've been following this page for more than 365 days, you might remember that I post a similar picture taken on my birthday every year that I put in an album called "Mile Marker," then do math to calculate how many miles the Earth has dragged me around the Sun. This year, the odometer rolled up 30,975,442,308 miles, all spinning in a corkscrew as the Sun pulls us all along around the center of the Milky Way. That's a lot of miles. I should probably ask for the high-mileage blend the next time I get my oil changed.
One advantage to having a birthday in February is that you can't really tell what my weight is doing in these pictures, unless I take the picture someplace in the South or global climate change has sent an unusually warm winter to Illinois. It's been a cold winter this year, but the yellow coat gives you a bit of an idea, because I haven't been able to wear that coat for a while. After years of increasing mass, I've finally managed to reverse things and have lost about 40 pounds since the last one of these Mile Marker pictures. (Which ... well, my camera was dying, so it's hard to tell with how dark that picture was, but that blue coat was looking pretty tight.) Now I'm back down around where I was when I had Robin take this Mile Marker picture almost a decade ago. I won't pretend to have accomplished this through hard work and sacrifice. It owes more to a doctor scaring the bejeezus out of me with heart monitors and insulin injections, then handing me one of those fancy miracle drugs. I make no apologies for jumping on the miracle drug craze.
Explored : Many thanks... The first one in a while :D
Happy Sunday :D
It is when I took flowers pictures, that I realised how much I like this subject for my art. You trully can create amazing flowers shots, and I wish you'll appreciate my work!
Numerically the first of Manchester's Metrolink trams - number 1001 - in some difficulty during the evening peak. As I recall, a points' failure had led to her becoming stranded across the junction with Mosley Street.
G M Buses 5123 (SND 123X), 4747 (A747 NNA), plus an unidentified Metrobus, line up to tip-toe gingerly past the stricken LRV, under the watchful guidance of a PTE supervisor.

Numerically the last of the Olympians delivered to GMPTE. the subsequent order being diverted to Bexleybus as their E-KYR batch. 3278 - 3305 later appeared as the F-DRJs when the order was reinstated by GM Buses. Seen in 1996 in Piccadilly in the GMS version of Express livery.
River Trent flooding at Gunthorpe, Nottinghamshire.
Gunthorpe Lock, does not have a specific, commonly used numeric identifier.
09 February 2026. The River Trent at Gunthorpe showing it strength and potential destruction. Very clear to see in person, the speed and power of the current at this point. Though pehaps not on any particular photograph. I kept well clear of the waters edge for obvious reasons. It's set to get worse than this over the coming days as more heavy rainfall is predicted.
The area features the historic Gunthorpe Bridge, a vital crossing, and has a long history of river traffic.
The name Gunthorpe refers not to guns but to a Viking woman. Gunnhildr was a common Viking female name, notably in the family of King Cnut, and could be shortened to Gunni. The name Gunthorpe combines Gunnhildr with the Old Norse element þorp meaning 'outlying farm/settlement'.

All set to start their duties for Lothian Country Buses a group of former Lothian Airlink Volvo B9TL's gather for muster at Seafield Engineering Works.
Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 bodied numbers 948 (SN10 DLE) and 949 (SN10 DLF) will form part of the fleet 937 to 950 from October when LCB's Service 104 and 113 are assigned to double decker working.
937 and 938 have been operating on these services for the past year but as part of Lothian's autumn reshuffle the whole batch of former Airlink 'SkyBlue Thinking' buses will now run on the East Lothian routes to Haddington and Pencaitland.
