~ "I got "PATTERNS (GEOMETRIC NUMERICAL, ETC) on my 1st WHEEL, For the second WHEEL I got BACKLIT." OK, so what was I going to do. I remembered I have these GEOMETRIC Dice with NUMBERS on them. First I used my 50mm lens but I didn't like how it turned out. I ended up getting out my Macro lens. I put a flash light behind it but it showed up so I had my camera on a tripod and held the flashlight up higher and moved it during the .8 seconds to get better backlight. I used a white acrylic for the reflections." .... ~

We are in Australia... This first day isn't easy with the Jetlag... I think I have only slept 4 or 5 hours in the plane...
We walked a little bit in Sydney, the time for me to take some pictures. Here is one of them...
The last shot of the day... I don't know why they are smiling, but they must have spend a good day... This is something I'm not used to see in France. People are less happy in Paris...
This is one of the many sea shell that we have beach combed, and brought back from Baja. Although numerically, they are very common, I find them to be uncommonly beautiful with their colors, shapes and translucent qualities. It was the translucent quality that I wanted to emphasize when I photographed this shell.
Lighting stuff: I stood this on a mirror, and leaned it against a glass block that was a little taller than the shell, in order to keep it upright and provide a reflection in the mirror. The lighting was from one YN560 in a Rogue grid behind the shell and slightly to camera right. The flash, in manual mode at 1/4 power, was triggered by a Yongnuo RF-603N. The lighting was simple but the post processing in Photoshop involved a lot of dust removal with a black paint brush. I like reflections, but the dust is a pain.

Strathclyde PTE LA1351 was the first numerically of the large 79 strong batch of (RDS/W) Leyland Atlanteans to arrive in Glasgow during 1980 entering service from ibrox Depot. By 1982 it had moved to Parkhead depot and was wearing this overall advertising livery for Video 1 as the Sony Colour Bus when seen here at Shetteston terminus on Sunday short working of the 1 service to Hope Street.

Snoopy, did you know that the pinwheel, previously known as a whirligig, was commercially created back in 1919, and did you know that the Chinese see the pinwheel as a symbol of turning one's luck around? Kind of strange the year is 2020...numerically after 1919. Twenty-twenty can use some good luck. I think we should make some and start spreading them around!

This coach is one of four which replaced Volvo B7RLE’s on one of my routes which all had poor paintwork, I will display the route list eventually once I’ve showcased the entire fleet.

I stumbled over these in an alley in Hsinchu yesterday, but couldn't find any more, nor figure out the logic of the numbers themselves. They are fairly old, so some others might have been lost to the elements over time.
This is a nice way to take flowers pictures :) This is a picture taken from my mother little balcony garden. She doesn't have a big place to grow plants, but she does pretty things.

Legends tell of a large empire that existed before our era. In that time there was a tyrannical Emperor with an iron control over his country. The poor people suffered greatly under the rule of the sovereign. Hunger, disease and oppression were the order of the day. The army of the Emperor was commanded by two generals. While one of the emperor obeyed unconditionally, the other general saw the suffering of the citizens, and had compassion on them. That was not new to the Emperor, but he tolerated no weakness! So he let the good General guard by two mighty dragons. But the power of the spirit was given him to perform in exactly such situations. The General often flattered his guards, until he finally managed to escape to the mountains.
The Emperor was steaming with rage and let his magicians conjure up dark creatures from the deep, which should look for the good General. A good friend of the General recognized the impending danger. This friend was a strong and strong-willed warrior who has served under the General. And for the first time in history a warrior gathered all the people who dreamed of a free will and life. Young and old people responded to this call. Better to die in battle than to tolerate the subjugation! And so it came that the General was supported by old and young people, by women and men and by children. The fight took place on a mountain like the one you see here.
The free men were numerically inferior to the army of the Emperor. Many of them had never held a sword in her hands. But they put up resistance! They dedicated their entire lives, even at times to the shedding of their blood on the mountains snow. The despair was great and the situation hopeless. But help came from very small creatures. Little fairies took pity on the desperate people. They formed an alliance and together they invoked the God of the mountain winds.
The General ordered to attack. The mountain winds enveloped the enemy’s army in a dense fog and together with the brave warriors they defeated completely the enemy. But the loyal General managed to escape and hid together with the emperor in the palace. Then the strong mountain winds clouded the whole palace with a thick nebula. Helpless and confused the Emperor and his General circled around in the palace until they came into the chambers of the dragons. The dragons did not recognize the both and devoured the both with a single bite. This was the birth of one of the most beautiful and prosperous golden times of mankind.

The morning of the 14th of October, we were supposed to leave Kings Canyon to go to Alice Springs. Before living, we wanted to visit the Canyon and the other places around... This was not possible with all the rain we had the night and this morning. So we took the road around 10am to go directly to Alice Springs... 2km after the hotel we passed accross 20cm of water... No problem for our RAV4... 20km after the floodway was much bigger... And there was a very strong stream... Woooww... We decided to go back to the hotel... But the water was up to 60cm... And 10 minutes after up to 120cm...
So we got stuck... Fortunately we found other people stucked with us... We ate together (BBQ :)) and waited for a weather amelioration... Around noon it stopped to rain. Around 4pm we went to see if we could pass... But there was a lot of mud in one side, and still a lot of water in the other side... Finally we slept in the car... Rangers were working on the mud during the night... Australia... What an adventure!!!

Numerically the second of the pair of ADL/BYD electrics now in service in Glasgow. Caught turning from St George’s Place onto St George’s Road on its way north from the city centre.
As we are back in France now, I'll share day by day the picture I've taken in Australia.

In France just before our trip in Australia I bought a filter : cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360289736794
I just tried it one in France, and find it natural to play with it in Australia... So this is one of the shot I've taken with it in Sydney. This is not as perfect as I wanted it to be, but I like it!

Wanted to take a macro shot of my watch with natural light from a window to highlight numbers and keep the main body of watch shaded.
I had always struggled to get decent photos of Knot [or Red Knot if you are from North America.] Numerically they were the commonest wader on the Dee Estuary when I was growing up with flocks numbering tens of thousands.
When I moved to the northeast, slightly smaller numbers were commonplace on Lindisfarne. But not any more. I haven't watched on the Dee for a long while so I can't speak for theree but we have thousands rather than tens on thousands in Northumberland now and I had never managed a good photo.
I spoke to my friend Chris Barlow [have a good look at his Flickr page and be astounded by what a great all-round naturalist he is] who recommended Boulmer and I selected a very high tide mid afternoon and mid week [a lucky day off work] and it worked our perfectly. The approaching tide pushed the birds off the rocks and although there were dog walkers who disturbed them I got lucky and photographed both these and Grey [Black-bellied] Plover.
