seen in a small booklet/folder called "Travel Notes" issued by the Southern Railway to assist travellers to the Continent. The folder includes a pocket for travel documents as well as many pages of adverts.
The folder must have been issued just after the 1923 Grouping as although the main text refers to the Southern Railway, elsewhere it appears as the either still the South Eastern & Chatham Railway or the Southern Railway (S. E. & C. Section) as well as including adverts that still mention the Caledonian Railway that would have been, by the time of printing, part of the London Midland & Scottish Railway.
This glorious advert was issued by the Canadian National Railways and shows the company owned Highland Inn at Algonquin Park in Ontario as well as giving information for those who would wish to visit Canada for their holidays. The CNR had just that year acquired the hotel when they had purchased the Grand Trunk Railway who had opened the hotel in 1908. The hotel had mixed fortunes, apparently closed by the Railway in 1932 although it seems to have reopened in private hands at some point. In 1956 it was purchased and demolished by the Ontario Government to return the site to its natural condition.

Metrolink RATP Dev Limited 1001, an Ansaldo T68X runs onto Aytoun Street in Manchester with a service to Altrincham. Tuesday 6th March 2012
Note, 1001 was built by Firema at Casaralta works in Bologna, Italy for the Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive. It was delivered to Queens Road on 29th August 1991 and entered service as number 1001 on 6th April 1992. It was named CHILDRENâS HOSPITALS APPEAL I at Queens Road depot on 5th January 1995, the name being removed in January 1997. It was named SYSTEM ONE on 3rd February 2008 but suffered accident damaged in November 2008 and the name was transferred to number 1011. 1001 was modified from a T68 to a T68X tram in March 2009 and the SYSTEM ONE name was reapplied in March 2009 (although 1011 also retained the name), the name being removed in November 2009

No idea why this survived in my papers since about 1979, but there it is. A note to our typesetters, probably apologizing for yet another ridiculously late night at The Daily Orange.
Found art. Don't recall when I did this graphite study of a building on yellow post-it note. It has been a bit due to the smudging of graphite
While the ladies extract the notes from the dispensers, the hoodies wait for the spare change. This is an insidious form of emotional blackmail which is becoming increasingly popular in Dublin. Beggars station themselves slap bang up against the cash dispensers.
It's worth noting two things: 1. I am a tenant, this is not an owner-occupied unit, and selling was not my (or my landlady's) idea. 2. I tried to get the stupid showings postponed until I got home and *could* clean the clutter, goddammit.
I also like the two "FYIs." That softens the blow, since I know you're just trying to inform me.

An interesting conversation on a scrap of notebook paper that flew into my office this morning by a stong gust of wind. Lot's of inferences about the involved parties can be drawn by this dialogue. Any suggestions?
