I sometimes distress the pages with brown inks, to make them look aged - but I accidently overdid these pages and did’nt want to use them for my case files. Instead I drew a pattern which I spotted on Pinterest, to simply cover the pages with something and so that I can carry on to a fresh new page spread. I thought of pause music, but imagine these pages to be a visual pause instead.

How to decorate your notebook "non-artist" style
1.Cover the boarders with painters tape.
2.try to paint it pink for your mom, then realize that it's not nearly dark enough to cover the words.
3.Paint it the color of your soul........I didn't have a good purple so black was a good second.
4.Stalk the internet for cool sticker-like images.
5. Print
6.Laminate
7.cut them out
8.spend an hour organizing them all.
9.Then another hour choosing which to use.
10. Two hours to place them in the bestest position.
11. Glue.
12. Finally. Bask in it's punny glory.

“All the noise in my brain. I clamp it to the page so it will be still.” -Barbara Kingsolver
Similar to hummingbirds almost always being on the move when awake, my brain tends to be quite active. I have found it helps tremendously to get some thoughts that won’t quiet down on paper. It’s rare that I don’t have a notebook with me and I plan on always having one as a companion.

Today's entry in my lomo notebook.
I love these days when my mailbox is full of letters.
Here are my first efforts in the world of book binding, small A7 sized notebooks, and I have to say I am pretty pleased with them as an initial attempt, which is unusual for me.
I didn’t have any book cloth and it is quite expensive, so I made my own using some old cotton twill trousers. I simply cut out a piece of fabric, laid it on a thick piece of glass, and then overlaid it with a larger piece of tracing paper coated with PVA. I then gently (don’t press too hard) rolled over it with a printing roller and allowed it to dry.

I bought a couple more kits to play with, this one was notebooks & folders with lined paper. Not too hard to put together, but there's a lot of cutting. The two model planes were also part of the kit, but I don't know why LOL. Anyway, I put them together too. The kit is 1:12 scale, but I think it can easily work for 1:6 also.
Dia de ficar na cama vendo desenho.
(Mentira, eu também fui socializar com os amigos de noite, hehe)
What do you do when you've lovingly designed your wedding invitations and had them printed on 100% recycled card using vegetable oil based inks and then the printer delivers 1,200 instead of 200 rendering them not very eco-friendly?
Well... you buy in lots of blank recycled paper and recycle the invitations into covers for lovely little hand bound notebooks.
There are just 150 of these notebooks available and when they're gone, they're gone.
Check out my profile for an Etsy link where you can buy these little lovelies.

I was inspired by a friend to try my hand at some bookbinding.
Escribiré en tu corazón;
una historia que tal vez nunca sera nuestra;
tuya y mía quizá sea;
pero de nosotros jamas sera.
En una pagina completa escribiré,
un Te Amo del tamaño del cielo;
tan grande como los sueños,
y tan pequeño como la vida,
para guardarlo;
justo en el centro de tu corazón.
Me disfrazare de un poeta sin vocación,
para dedicarte breves versos carentes de pasión,
sabiendo muy bien que terminare escribiendo sin control;
en las paginas de un libro que solo existe en mi imaginación.
Un día no muy lejano me daré cuenta;
que aun no he escrito ni una sola letra,
que necesitaría mas de mil libros;
para decirte lo que sentía todo ese tiempo,
en el que escribí en el libro que no existió
y que seria indispensable escribir dos mil libros mas;
para poder escribirte lo que estoy sintiendo hoy.

I take tons of notes, and in between taking notes and listening to lectures I also doodle crazy things in the margins everywhere. Here are some of them...
Christmas gift for my daughter's friend. Sort of a last minute thing. I roughly used this tutorial at One Red Robin, but recreated the measurements around a notebook I already had.
When people look at my notebook and say, "What small writing." I turn to this page and say, "No, this is small writing."
It's the table of contents of my commonplace book which is contained in my notebook.
The colours refer to the type of entry: Orange for religion, green for photography, red for art, blue for travel (mostly cycling) other things are left uncoloured.
