Crazy Tuesday -- Spiral

I have a few really cool spiral kitchen objects but I have used them all before for challenges and I did not want to re-use them. So I challenged myself with this shot of the spiral binding of a notebook.

Sometimes there is no complicated story, it’s just all about the image

For Sliders Sunday.

I took a photo of a small portion of a ring binder notebook, duplicated, flipped, blended in Photoshop.

THANK YOU FOR VISITS AND FOR YOUR PHOTOS.

Many artists keep track of their views and thoughts in a notebook. Have a look at this informative video about her workflow to see how it works for A.K. Dolven. The same video with English subtitles: Time is material

Alcuni oggetti e stumenti per trasferire pensieri e idee su carta.

Some object and tools to transfer thoughts and ideas on paper.

I've kept a Journal for years … and currently use A5 notebooks with covers of various colours. So I thought I'd play around with the covers a bit!

Happy Sliders Sunday!

A little normality returning after storm Eowyn 😊

Four times a year, at the end of each quarter, the notebooks are collected and graded. Of course I want to see everthing --- class notes, vocabulary sheets, cultural info, verb info, tape recorded practice sheets --- everthing completed and in the specified order. Now is that asking too much?

It takes a while to grade the notebooks, but it is worth the time and effort, and I feel good knowing that, when the students leave me, they have a great "resource of information" to use in future Spanish classes.

A macro view of spiral notebook rings, taken for the Flickr Friday group theme, "Ring." The frame spans 1½ - inches across.

Strobist info:

The scene was illuminated by two Nikon SB900 speedlights positioned 45° CL and 90° CR, one-foot above and two-feet away from the subject. The speedlights were fired in Manual mode @ 1⁄32 power through Neewer 24" x 24" soft boxes.

The SB900s were triggered by three PocketWizard Plus X triggers.

Lens: Tokina AT - X M100 AF PRO D (AF 100mm f / 2.8 Macro).

13th roll of film

The textured cover of a notebook, lit with daylight through an orange filter from the left and by a UV torch from the right. Each of these raised dots is about 1mm across.

This is why I love macro! The abstraction and softness can be really interesting when pointed at something so mundane. This has not been processed, although I have a few interesting ideas for it. ;)
