just a little note to say

i need to be away for a few days ...

but i will be checking in to see all the

lovely work you will be sharing!

(i was taken by the shadow of the leg of my glasses ... a note in itself ... :)

The little purple flowers are subtle, but they contrast nicely with the silvery foliage. Pentax Super-Takumar 35mm/f2, somewhere between f2.0 and f4. I've gotta start taking better notes.

Note Taking Tip: Listening is the first step in successful note taking. If you do not understand how to listen properly, you will not be able to correctly store the information in your brain, or on paper. #notes

My notes from Agile2008. I'm trying something new, uploading the notes to Evernote to store them and I thought others might be able to get something out of them.

This was the first thing I ever printed. It was handset with metal type (Stymie) and printed on a Vandercook Universal I at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. A return address was printed on the flap. The envelope liner was computer-designed and was printed on an inkjet printer. The stationery was from Paper Source, which also carries templates for the liners.

Notes for final project.. :)

enjoy my cryptic handwriting.

Here is the thank you note Santa left us during his Christmas Eve visit:

Dear Alana,

When I came down the chimney I saw that you had made me a wonderful gingerbread house. I thought it was so nice that I couldn’t eat it, so I just ate the cookie.

I hope that you enjoy all your presents. The elves had a good time making them all.

Merry Christmas,

S. Claus

PS. Rudolph says that Ringer is a good watchdog. He woke up when he saw us coming. Santa had to give him a treat so he would stop barking.

Note the horrible ugly whirligig thing and vent that someone put right over the front door area. Both of those are going to be removed. Note that the concrete (or whatever) surrounding the whirligig thing was painted red. This photo also shows the grid windows which will be dark brown and then the wood railing and trim along roofline that could be painted another color. The front door has been taken off, stripped of all hardware and is getting sanded and primed for a potential other color!

As you can probably read in my notes, I have to write notes all the time. I'll forget stuff if I don't. You know how it goes. Out of sight, out of mind. Yeah I hate it.

Xmas pressie on the way....... Santa fell behind on this one. ;D

(NOT MY PIC)

Overnight, someone placed this musical note (which I noticed as I processed the photo was in the shape of a lower-case B) in front of Creole Gallery, Robert Busby's home and gallery. By placed, I mean permanently affixed to a post which is anchored to the sidewalk. I wouldn't be surprised if there had been some city complicity in the memorial piece of artwork which a number of us suspect was created by a local artist/businessman who has had a hand in creating a couple of businesses in Old Town.

printed on soft white 20% cotton textured stock. 6 folded note cards, blank inside, and 6 kraft paper envelopes, boxed

I'm using sticky notes to work out the complex puzzle of how to manage the many secrets that drive the plot of this novel.

The stickies are on the back of a piece of ugly wrapping paper I was never going to use. If you look closely, you can make out the candy canes.

Talk on Feb 11, 2014 at MaRS, Auditorium Toronto, ON.

April Rinne discussed how the collaborative economy has the potential to transform how we design products and services, create sustainable and “shareable” cities, re-imagine public services, reduce waste and connect communities.

music: make your own kind of music - mamma cass elliot

"Nobody can tell ya

There's only one song worth singing

They may try and sell ya

Cause it hangs them up

To see someone like you

You gotta make your own kind of music

Sing your own special song

Make your own kind music

Even if nobody else sings along

It can't be nowhere

The loneliest kind of lonely

It may be

Just to do your thing is the hardest things to do"

Most people live and die with their music still unplayed. They never dare to try.

I always hated math...

Somewhere between kitchen and toilets we experience communication breakdown

I like to surprise my lovely with random little notes scattered 'round the house. Sometimes they take the form of commentary scrawled into the margins of the newspaper left open on the kitchen table. Or a Post-it in his cereal box. This one found its way onto the bathroom mirror.

The other day I decided to spread the Flickr love by writing loads of testimonials for beloved contacts who had none. They've all been sitting around unapproved, which led me to the discovery that Flickr's testimonial notifier is not working, and has not for awhile now. And lo and behold, I also realized there was a really sweet one waiting for ME to approve! D'oh! Who knows how long that's been sitting there, and I felt so rude not acknowledging it til now! So I suggest y'all go to your profiles and click on 'Manage testimonials' on the right hand side... you might have a surprise in store!
