That pole in the far right corner of the image used to be the cornerpost of our privacy fence. Eventually the fence was infested with termites, I think, and since we never needed a fence that much anyway, they decided to just tear the whole thing down. Including the section of fence that blocked our yard off from the neighbor on the north side.
These neighbors, two married, middle-aged empty-nesters, are notorious for A) being difficult pricks and B) hanging out in their hot tub nude. Because of the elevation of our house, we could see over the fence and occasionally witnessed their nude bathing shenanigans. Creepy.
But anyway, once our fence was down, they really didn't have privacy, and after some fuss, they put their own damn side fence up. We snickered when we saw the workmen come in with the fenceposts.
In process, acrylic on paper. Text taken from printed notes (in a phonetics primer from 1912) instructing the teacher how to go about applying the primers lessons to the children. Then redacting the notes to abstract and play up the absurdity in the text. Dimensions 15" by 6"
Went to visit my parents today. My mom has a new obsession with pictures of her granddaughters...my kids. :) She's been asking me to print out certain pictures of the kids. Some of them she raves about...and of course that feeds my ego. :D
Also, this is not all of them either. There is a side table just to the left of this table that has another 5 or 6 frames with pics of the girls. :) And she just bought 2 more frames today.
Don't believe me when I saw she loves picture frames? Check out the end table on the other side of the couch.
When inserting yourself into the picture for some perspective, it's always a good idea to pay attention to what you look like from behind. In this case, I completely forgot about my hat, which I had turned around backwards so it wouldn't get in the way of the camera viewfinder.
An example of my handwriting, notetaking style and what I think is important to write down while hearing a lecture. Notice the backwards writing in upper left hand corner; I use both sides
