Finished nightshift this morning buzzing knowing I was heading down to the beach to photograph the last sunrise of 2018. The skies were swirling with colour as I was leaving the car park and luckily I arrived in time to capture some of that colour. Wishing everyone a happy new year.

A view over Nottingham from the hospital

Just a couple of shots from my very first night shoot of insects, last night...several days ago, I noticed that something had been eating leaves on a plant in my front yard but never saw activity during the day...it dawned on me last night before bedtime that I should take the flashlight and see if it was a night feeding caterpillar or other insect...and there were six June Beetles working the nightshift!

I held the camera in one hand, the flashlight in the other hand and fired off a few shots in the sprinkling rain! I really enjoyed my first experience in night insect photography! It truly opened up new possibilities right in my own yard!

Waiting for train. I'm as usual sleepy after working the whole night. I'm playing with my iPhone. It's not art, just fun!

"Night falling on the city,

Quite something to behold,

Don't it just look so pretty,

This disappearing world."
