Night Fever
Bee Gees
Listen to the ground: there is movement all around.
There is somethin’ goin' down, and I can feel it.
On the waves of the air, there is dancin' out there.
If it's somethin' we can share, we can steal it.
And that sweet city woman, she moves through the light,
Controlling my mind and my soul.
When you reach out for me, yeah, and the feelin' is right,
The night fever, night fever: we know how to do it.
Gimme the night fever, night fever: we know how to show it.
Here I am, prayin' for this moment to last,
Livin' on the music so fine, borne on the wind,
Makin' it mine.
The night fever, night fever: we know how to do it.
Gimme the night fever, night fever: we know how to show it.
In the heat of our love, don't need no help for us to make it.
Gimme just enough takin’ us to the mornin'.
I got fire in my mind. I get higher in my walkin',
And I'm glowin' in the dark; I give you warnin'.
Night fever, night fever: we know how to do it.
Gimme the night fever, night fever: we know how to show it.
Gimme the night fever, night fever: we know how to do it.
Gimme the night fever, night fever: we know how to show it.
Gimme the night fever, night fever: we know how to do it.
The Loreo lens in a cap may be the worst lens ever made, but it creates some pretty crazy lens flares! I captured these two images in downtown Libertyville, Illinois one very cold evening this spring. I like how the lens flares look like they're the source of light lighting the blossoms. These images have a retro sci-fi feel, kind of like an old Toho movie.

The final night of my 2016 trip to England. We'd spent the day in Stamford and Burghley House in Lincolnshire, and by the time we returned to London it was already dark. I made a few hand-held (i.e. not using a tripod) night photos between King's X Station and my hotel near Tottenham Court Road.

Tuesday night saw a pair of workings from Manchester to Bicester, requiring reversal and a Colas 70 on each end. They were only a few minutes apart and one of the crew on this one came off here.
Details: My apologies for the sketchy note, result of a quick conversation with the departing driver. 70811, Banbury, 11.37pm, 20th June 20117.

Another amazing night in southern Iceland near the town of Hofn. There was a particularly intense solar storm and the night sky simply turned green; amazing to behold.
Just a personal observation of lights and natural shapes in the night.

This painting has been radically reworked. It now is titled Parel and looks like this.
Bodie, CA
Bodie is a ghost town in the hills east of the Sierras, founded as a mining camp after gold was discovered in the area. It was a tough town in a harsh environment, where murders and hangings where common. It once had as many as 2,000 buildings including 65 saloons and 2 churches, but most were destroyed in one day by fire in 1892.
It was completely abandoned by 1950 and is now kept in a state of "arrested decay" by the California park service.
This night visit to Bodie was part of the Nocturnes Night Photography Festival at Mono Lake, hosted by Lance Keimig, Scott Martin and Tim Baskerville, and was a great time all-around.
