A night time view of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC. This monument honoring the 16th President was dedicated on May 20, 1922 following years of debate about the location and style of the building. The centerpiece of the memorial is the large statue of Lincoln seated in a chair. The statue is 19 feet from head to toe and if he stood up, this likeness of Lincoln would be over 28 feet tall. It was designed by Daniel Chester French and was carved over a four year period. The entire statue weighs over 160 tons and was shipped to the site in 28 pieces. The building also features murals and copies of his most famous writings, include the Gettysburg Address. The memorial is open throughout the day and night and is a very popular tourist attraction on the National Mall in Washington.

Pretty relaxing, especially with the clocks turning back an hour which is always exciting yet quite depressing when the sun sets at 5pm and you walk into class when it's still bright outside and walk out when it's pitch black and you're like..."what happened?!" D:
We like to go try new places around Hamilton; eat out and go on adventures. Lately we've been sticking to the same all you can eat sushi favourites so I wanted to try something new. Thanks to a recommendation from a friend we travelled downtown Saturday night to a little korean/japanese palce called Ajio and had a great time and definitely want to go back! On top of ordering bulgogi and unagi bi bim baps that include salad and miso soup, 2 salmon maki rolls, and japchae, we also got complimentary congee, cod and oranges to finish! All for 40$ Incredible.
When we finished we were walking back to the bus stop and there were Christmas lights already hung up at Gore Park, so I had my camera and 45mm ts-e on me and wanted to give it a go and try and get some really nice bokeh :D It was super dark and I don't like pushing the 5d past 1600, so I shot wide open (thankfully the 45 is much sharper than the 24mm ts-e) with tilt to get even more bokeh, shot at a relatively low shutter speed to get that nice ambient light and waited for a car to pass by to get that nice highlight on Courtney's face :)
I had such immense issues editing this photo!!!! It's been a while when I have no idea how I want it to look and everything I try just doesn't work...b+w, gold tones, even curves and levels were touchy...so I left it straight out of camera due to the gentle tones on her face cast by the light and like it just as is.
last night, shortly after dinner, i thought i saw a frog in one of the drainage areas of the villa - on closer inspection, i found a relative of this little guy. apparently, a huge number hatched last night, the beach was covered. sadly, the natural instinct is to go towards the light, as the moon is most often over the sea. however, they were coming toward the lights of our villa, and finding their way onto our decks... so, our after dinner entertainment was rescuing around 50 of these little darlings, and sending them back into the ocean. the texture of their shells may be my new favourite thing ever....

The very first unit in my Night Goblin army 2.0. My test unit for the stalagmite basing and the black/yellow paint. My first Night Goblin army was purple/yellow.The Finecast made posing the squigs SOOOO much easier. I hope to eventually be able field two horde sized units of them.

An eastbound lights up the fog in the air as they roll eastward on the Marceline Sub at West Baring, MO. After shooting photo down here, I noticed this is the control point without new signals in place? If you look over the red signals, you can see the glow from the next eastbound 6 miles behind.
Night time at Port Clinton finds 4 different EMD models in 3 different paint schemes resting outside of the shop. SW1500, SD40-2, GP38-2, SD38.

I really wanted to try out some night photography, but was met with a cloudy night (though I am not complaining about the start of the monsoons!). I didn't take too many but am thinking that maybe I should've taken a few more with how much I love the few I took.

Yurakucho provides a glimpse of Japanese life from the early postwar period, with its many izakaya (Japanese-style bars, denoted by their red lanterns known as akachochin) and outdoor yakitori restaurants ('yakitoriya'), many of which are located under the train tracks serving Tokyo's JR Yamanote Line. Because of its many traditional Japanese-style eating establishments, as well as its location on the Yamanote Line with easy access to Tokyo Station, Yurakucho is a favorite drinking spot for businessmen on their way home from work.
