Hayami Mokomichi is a beyond amazing actor. He plays Night Tenjo is my favorite drama Absolute Boyfriend. You should really watch it, You'd fall in love with him as soon as he is on the screen.

The fireworks are only a few times a year. Love watch them since I was a child :)

When you are trying to take a night shot and a jet flys by.

Taken before midnight - some lights were out after midnight

Kurashiki (倉敷) is located in Okayama Prefecture, not far from the prefectural capital of Okayama City. Kurashiki has a preserved canal area that dates back to the Edo Period (1603-1867), when the city served as an important rice distribution center. In fact, the name "Kurashiki" can be roughly translated as "town of storehouses" in reference to the rice storehouses.

Many of Kurashiki's former storehouses have been converted into museums, boutiques and cafes. The Ohara Museum is the most impressive of Kurashiki's museums, exhibiting a large collection of works by famous Western artists. The canal area is a ten minute walk from Kurashiki Station.

That was a pain to shoot. It was really dark there and the room was full of mirrored surfaces.

Strobist info: SB 600 and Vivitar 285 bounced from the ceiling.

We were using red flashlight hiking so the animals were not disturbed as they couldn't see the red, so I painted the front grass with the flash light.

A full moon had just gone behind the clouds.

ex-GWR Castle Class 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe stands in Leicester London Road station with The Equinox Explorer night train run by Vintage Trains. She was due for a 20 minute layover in the station before moving forward to be watered at Humberstone Road.

Originally this was supposed to be hauled by 4965 Rood Ashton Hall but Tyseley substituted the Castle for unknown reasons.

4 second exposure.

I'm surprised that there were not more people here taking photographs, but there were only about three of us with tripods, plus a few bizarrely trying to take handheld photos. The weather was a bit problematic; rain of course does not show up on a long exposure like it does on a short one but water gets on the lens despite standing under an umbrella.

Also photo includes satellite.

I was really disappointed with this year's light exhibition. :(

Transvestites and Vampires, have so much in common.

We live long periods isolated from the light of day, only to apear at the break of dark. Horrified people make the sign of the cross, when in the shadows our paths meet and instinctively folk tremble when their gaze falls upon our long claws, as they sparkle in the scarce light of night.

Perhaps they feel threatened, by the strength hidden behind our feminine, elegant, almost cat like appearance. Perhaps they see a predator, hiding behind the powdered fine skin, reflecting the light of the moon?

Even our youthful appearance bear no true witness, to the lenght of history in our hearts, we are unthinkable older than mere eyes can see.

Our refuge we tend to keep secret for reasons of safety, as caught on the wrong leg, or surprised in the wrong light, we lose our powers of enchantment.

Exalted beyond the norms and rules of present time, we rule supreme in our rightfull element. It is not true we cannot stand garlic, we just prefer not to smell of it and that does limit our choise in food slightly.

We are seductive by nature, but usually disapear before the first light of day. Our needs are strong and must be fullfilled night upon night again, in order for us to survive as what we are.

A night time view of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC. This monument honoring the 16th President was dedicated on May 20, 1922 following years of debate about the location and style of the building. The centerpiece of the memorial is the large statue of Lincoln seated in a chair. The statue is 19 feet from head to toe and if he stood up, this likeness of Lincoln would be over 28 feet tall. It was designed by Daniel Chester French and was carved over a four year period. The entire statue weighs over 160 tons and was shipped to the site in 28 pieces. The building also features murals and copies of his most famous writings, include the Gettysburg Address. The memorial is open throughout the day and night and is a very popular tourist attraction on the National Mall in Washington.
