Schnapschuss auf dem Weg zur Arbeit, als der Zug mit seinen beleuchteten Fenstern unter mir vorbeirauschte, um im nächsten Augenblick im Zentrum des Bildes zu verschwinden.
Snapshot on the way to work, as the train with its illuminated windows rushed past below me, only to disappear into the centre of the picture in the next moment.
Allianz Arena again - it's such a cool place in a delightfully surreal area, especially at night time - I had to "stalk" it a bit lately. :)

Thean Hou Temple, traditional Chinese temple during annual Lunar New Year celebrations (typically between January-February), in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Southeast Asia.
Waiting to use the pedestrian crossing at night, the clock in the background is part of a famous war memorial.
This night shot of the Grand Canyon was taken under a rising 90% full moon with a 30 second exposure. The level of detail in the shot is crazy to me. Look closely and you can see Indian Gardens, the trail to Plateau Point and the snow on the North Rim.

The night herons are medium-sized herons in the genera Nycticorax, Nyctanassa, and Gorsachius. The genus name Nycticorax derives from the Greek for “night raven” and refers to the largely nocturnal feeding habits of this group of birds, and the croaking crow-like call of the best known species, the black-crowned night heron.
In Europe, night heron is often used to refer to the black-crowned night heron, since it is the only member of the genus in that continent.
Adults are short-necked, short-legged, and stout herons with a primarily brown or grey plumage, and, in most, a black crown. Young birds are brown, flecked with white. At least some of the extinct Mascarenes taxa appear to have retained this juvenile plumage in adult birds.

It started to snow heavily, I simply had to go out for a walk, despite the fact it was already midnight! :)
Taken with Panasonic Lumix GX7 digital camera and Panasonic Lumix G 14mm F2.5 wide-angle lens.
Almost no editing, I just had to correct the slightly crooked horizon, and re-convert the raw files back to black and white.
Thank you all for your comments and faves!

We were lucky enough to have the sky clear for a little bit last night and we have decided to take advantage of it and go to shoot some stars.. The coyotes were quite vocal around us and it was a bit weird being there in the darkness. I am so lucky to have my husband go out with me. I think I would be too big of a chicken to go out by myself...
The Barman attends to his duties while the patrons wine, dine and read or engage in chatter! Another in my 'photo-realist' series, many taken at the extraordinary Exclusive Books bookshop and eatery in Hyde Park Centre. I have taken many shots there for three reasons: 1. It speaks to the remarkable affluence of upper-class South Africans, in contrast to the ever-present ambient poverty. 2. It is a 'brick and mortar' bookstore the likes of which no longer are to found in, for instance, major cities in the 'Anglo-sphere'. 3. Its interior architectural refurbishment has become famous and is looked at in awe by visiting architects and interior designers. Finally, the management is wonderfully hospitable. I'd like to thank them for encouraging me to indulge my photographic art!
Very best wishes to all my contacts and visitors!
Plenty of photo-opps these days, every neighbourhood house has become a Xmas tree and the village lighting competes with Times Square or Vegas :) ))
The realistic version, without 'creative abuse' in post-process. I think it's festive enough?
Last night, after the Rowdies win over Memphis (!), they put in a very impressive fireworks show. Height of the display may have been limited, since most of the fireworks stayed low. This presented beautiful colorful clouds of smoke that I hadn’t seen before. The inclusion of the palm trees and harbor in the background were bonuses for me. I’m only posting two of my photos from last night, but I had many choices for favorites. Good job, Rowdies!
"Night Wheelin" Fresh photograph taken just this passed weekend at the Old Stone Mill in Brewster. Had my favorite type of skies; partly cloudy. I'll be heading back there when things get a little greener.
This night shot was taken back in October 2013 visiting the Canadian rockies shooting my time lapse shorts "The Rocky Clouds"
Maligne Lake is located south of Jasper. This little house the beside the dock of the rental canoes. It was a cloudy night covering most of the sky most of the night. I guess it knew I was there shooting since 6PM waiting for the clear sky. So it did give me this moment of a pretty clear chance to shot the milky way.
Hope you like this!
