Late at night and not many in the streets but a man and his Sanshin(3 strings) instrument. And a little bit of alcohol.

Winter night long exposure of a train passing over the Harbour Bridge. Sony a6300

Night shot of downtown Ottawa

One hand was holding the rail

the other pushed deep in his pocket,

his eyes the color of sky, just as unfocused,

swirls of fog making his thoughts drift away

and what he remembered of her now so little

and what she remembered of him he did not know

but the smell of the sea and dead fish were strong

and the air cool and damp and his last memory of her

in a long, pastel blue dress and moist eyes, as if she

had been crying, was one he might have imagined

or dreamed but nevertheless, she was gone, he was alone,

the tide sadly incessant, in and out, something he thought,

but was not sure, had to do with the moon.

Northwest Art and Air Festival is an annual event in Albany, Oregon. One of the highlights is the Friday night night glow.

This is part of my pandemic project. The project was created to minimize the number of people that I would come into contact with and to help keep my sanity. The location is a local university. From what I can tell the vast majority of classes are being held online leaving the campus empty with the exception of a few nursing students and an occasional group of Frisbee golf players.

The project started when my wife and I used the campus to walk the dog in the evening. I began to notice the architecture and interesting light fixtures. I started to return and photograph and soon had a project.

I wear a T-shirt with this cool image on it that is a combination of Jane and the famous painting Starry Night. I'm sharing the image now on Flickr so more people can enjoy it.

This was created by combining several prompts, a seed, and an image of Starry Night as input into an AI tool called Midjourney.

Taken the other side of the bridge from the previous shot, the platforms of Uxbridge Underground Station are captured at night. A Metropolitan Line train of S Stock waits to depart from Platform 1. Even though the station only has three tracks, the middle bay shares Platforms 2 & 3. The Charles Holden designed station building top right is Grade II Listed.

My ninja skill in night

I often think that the night is more alive

and richly coloured than the day.

Vermilion, Ohio. I loved the reflection of the Christmas lights on the water.

Something new, that I wanted to try out for some time now ;) One place during day & night in one photo. Warsaw, Poland.

I practised a bit more night time photography with my March Yashicamat film. I am getting better but still not completely happy yet - I have really enjoyed doing it though and that's the important thing! There are some breaks in the trails because there were a few clouds drifiting across the sky. This exposure was about 55 minutes at f5.6.

Spending the night alone in some remote place in the high mountains allows to experience a double sense of remoteness: the purely physical and the temporal...

The physical one is at least obvious, as after hours and hours of hiking we inevitably move away from our places of comfort. The temporal one is perceptible from the moment in which, when evening falls, it seems to have also traveled through time and thus to have found oneself in a dimension prior to our appearance on Earth.

Deafened by the continuous “fireworks” of the plain, which seems to reward the emptiness of “self-centeredness at all costs”, being able to experience such particular and essential moments reminds us how illusory human ambitions are, on a planet, moreover, which could quietly do without us.

The clouds were bright and reflecting the light pollution from the city and suburbs as they swiftly passed overhead amid the starry sky.

I tried to get the clouds but the stars won out.

Karen said that she had to look out and see what was going on, as it was taking me quite a while to enter the house after she heard the car door slam shut. At first she thought I might be listening to a good radio program, not wanting to turn it off. I do that sometimes and call it a driveway moment. Finally, the time went on too long and she was worried that I had fallen and couldn't get up! She glanced out the window to see me crouching over my camera in the street, and she knew that it was just me and my obsession out there, so she could relax.

Three exposures, fused together to bring out the best view of the sky.

The dance of the clouds aloft among the stars, the trees and me as observers, swaying with the rhythm of the universe.
