I try to post a couple photos each year of the summer in Chicago as a rembrance. We suffer so much all winter long with the harsh sub zero winds and the ice, the poorly plowed streets, and the transit cuts don't help. I'm a year round bicyclist so I suffer tremendously but also willingly. The more you suffer in winter, the more you appreciate a beautiful summer!

This was during Green Music Fest at the end of June. Sigh.

For May, we're going in the opposite direction and focusing on "negative space."

Negative space photography is related to minimalist photography. It emphasizes not just the subject but also the empty space around the subject. So, although the viewer’s eyes may focus on a central figure, they can’t help but notice the large section of emptiness that surrounds and defines that figure.
