Macro Mondays theme - blue and orange
Also day 3 for April: A month in 30 pictures
I had a few ideas for the theme but wasn't really happy with anything when I noticed our orange suitcase (luckily not put in the loft yet after our trip) and since I had the blue and orange pens in my hand at the time, I popped them on the case and was quite pleased with the results. I upped the vibrance and contrasts as I wanted the colours to really stand out. HMM

Negative Space
Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️❤️❤️
Taken for Macro Mondays 'Negative Space' theme and also this weeks Project 52: Typography theme.
And yes, the V isn't there, not originally a composition device but out of a big bag of mixed linotype blocks I was missing one vital letter!
I took a more minimal version of this as well but this was my fave.
Having a father and son day out today, will be back later to comment!
HMM! Theme: Negative Space
Life is about more than survival. It lies in our genes to survive, but the ability to to thrives is also part of our us. Life is a gift. It's an obligation and a tribute to life to do our best and make the most of it.
Life is about moments of happiness, compassion, love and passion. It about trying our best to fill our life with good things, joy and laughter. To accept that there will be times, where we get cornered, unfortunately it's part of life too.
We have the strength and the motivation to survive. Be grateful for that. We have the skills to move on with new hopes and dreams. We show the world, that we despite our obstacles or losses, have learnt and grown. We have more than just survived. Life is worth living and in the end it always grant us the best.
I've never tried shooting a high key image before... but on a bright sunny day where I was struggling for motivation and inspiration I had to try something new!
Im really struggling with my woodland photography at the moment and creating images im happy with... Knoydart was brilliant but since I've been back ive been off the boil... probably partly down to my leg injury sustained in Knoydart as to be honest its sore... but physio says best thing I can do is exercise it... Ive tore my ACL and PCL ligaments in my knee and its a good 3 months of pain. I've only had one good session out out of 3 since back! The two failures have been clear blue sky times and I've just struggled with the light... but I have to go shoot when I get the chance... and I do think of them as still productive learning ventures... I learned that im not fussed on one of the locations and I went to the other for sunset and it defo suits sunrise more...
So this afternoon whilst down at Mussleburgh Lagoons I shot this Gadwall... which I quite like... It ticks the arty box anyway!
Looking through some of my fave photographers woodland work this evening there are 3 things about them I have noticed... 66% of all are shot in fog ... rarely in any of the shots if they are within the wood is there any sky in the image at all... the other 33% not shot in fog have some other epic light or conditions going on... rarely do you see direct sun falling on the image! Maybe the thing to note is that if im not getting atmospheric conditions... prob best not bother going with the exception of scouting for images and enjoying the walk!

For Sliders Sunday - HSS!
Early morning on the shores of Lake Rotorua, on the North Island of New Zealand.
It had been raining the night before, and I awoke early to a most beautiful light through the mist with the waters of the lake serene and calm and an enchanting pale turquoise.
It was so very quiet standing there. Altogether, a truly magical, emotive and meditative moment in time.
