Dear friends, I send you my blessings for the new year, Bes ~

"I release all things from the past year that has caused any negative attachment.

I prepare and welcome new changes, new lessons and new adventures.

I welcome new opportunities to grow emotionally, mentally and spiritually."

(Habemus negativo decente)

Reclaimed negative.

Fuji FP 100C silk.

(Image taken recently with an Analog camera with B&W film).

This is a black & white film, there is no way I can convert it to color. So this and the trouble of carrying a heavy medium format camera on a Florida trail. But was trying it again as a panorama camera. Instead of using the regular 120 films, loaded it with 35mm. Resulting in a 24mm x 70mm panoramic format, which is close to a 1:3 ratio. Analog panoramic cameras are still really expensive, so this is a good solution for any analog Panoramic photographer on a budget.

(Analog Camera: Mamiya RB67 and Mamiya Sekor C 50mm).

(Analog Film: Arista EDU 100, black & white Negative film).

(Technical Data: Develop on Perceptol 1:1 @75°, Scan on Epson V600 @ 2,400dpi. Edit on Google Nik collection Silver Efex Pro2).

(Location: Sabal Point Preserve, Longwood, Florida).

My first attempt at doing inverted art. I wanted the inverted picture to look like a cartoony comic-book illustration, so leaving those thin white outlines was pretty tricky. Much trickier than just drawing with a black pen.

Inspired by Siercon & Coral's Invert island.

I like how this turned out.

This work is a study of negative painting in watercolor.

Watercolor on paper Langton Prestige - 100% Cotton.

This paper is not very good because it absorbs too much water.

WPG 8x8 Square Format

Our local Wakering Photography Group (WPG) challenge was any subject presented in an square 8"x8" format.

I captured this tree at sunset but I felt it was a little underwhelming....so I decided to process and print it as a negative as it was to be displayed in a black mount. I got some advice from Dave, a fellow group member, how to convert/revert the image in Lightroom, and was pleased with the result!!

It wasn't a favourite with group but was against some excellent square images.

Ilford MGiv paper negatives

Committed to Fomapan 200 using a Hasselblad 500C and 100 mm lens with a 56 mm extension ring. Developed using Ars-Imago R9 (rodinal) 1:25 as per the Massive Dev chart (though I think the listed times are too short and will be adding at least a minute to them in the future) and scanned with an Epson V850 using Silverfast. Positive conversion and contrast done with Negative Lab Pro. Dust cleaning, sharpening and final contrast in Photoshop.

Nikon D700 90mm f/2.5. While taking the previous shot, and having failed to stop down the lens after focussing, and when shooting in manual, the shot got massively overexposed. The blinking highlights showed this image in negative, and I though it looked quite cool, so I turned it negative in PSP.

Rudawy Landscape Park, Poland

To finish off the week we have a fine group shot by Poole of the family of Mr. Henry Bell of The Quay, Waterford. The dress code is less flamboyant than we normally see in photos like this, I wonder why?

Have a lovely weekend and we will see you all on Tuesday.
