Testing effect of additional acetic acid (which is quite subtle, btw)
Righthand ⅓ has no additional acetic acid, central ⅓ has 1 drop per 5ml sensitizer, lefthand ⅓ has 4 drops per 5ml sensitizer.
Started noticing a subtle change in sunlight the other day. Starts happening every year as we approach the autumnal equinox. The sun begins to cast more glare. It's still full-on summer in the northern latitudes. But the sun is definitely on the decline, rising slightly lower in the sky each day. I think the shift is something photographers are more keen on than most people. As a group I think we tend to notice things like this because we look for them. For me the shift presages the more dramatic effects that will occur in September. Sun glare becomes an increasing factor and uncomfortable to the eye. Right now I'm just trying to suck every last ounce of enjoyment out of August. The psychological impact of flipping a calendar to September is something I'll never overcome. It's rooted in 'back-to-school' sadness of my youth. I'm veering way off course here. Back in the moment, I was taken with how everything I was seeing in this cemetery seemed to be presented in terms of negative space. The gravestones were pitched in shade creating the effect of grim, life-sized chess pieces. The leaves were perfectly silhouetted across the intense sky. The shift is subtle, but unmistakable.
I used 3x overlapping pieces of thin card to create a triangle (negative space). I used focus staking which produced the strange textured look.

This covered walkway runs for about a third of a mile, leading up to the Triboro Bridge from Randall's Island. It wasn't exactly the friendliest feeling place to walk at night.
I find it strange that this part of the walkway is totally caged in, but at the highest point of the bridge, the only thing between you and a fall to the water is a waist-high barrier.
I don't know this lady. I surprised her by clicking as she came around the corner. She was a good sport.
Reviewing my negatives with a magnifying loop and light table after developing. I always enjoy this step, it’s where you really see what you’ve got. It takes a bit of practice to understand what you are seeing because in a negative, everything is reversed.

I was walking through the park, and found a negative on the ground. I hadn't seen one in so long. I was curious, so I picked it up. I was trying to figure out what photos were on the negative. I really couldn't tell. I took this photo, but it wasn't until I downloaded it from of my camera and inverted it in photoshop that I could see... it's some kind of RV.

Having the floor redone tomorrow, so took some "before" pictures. This turned out to be one of the "effects" on the Photofun editing site. Too good to pass up, I thought. Fun with pics.

Looking at the negative I briefly wondered who the scruff was in the army issue hat, realisation dawned...me. It was the end of a long day, Preston was a wind tunnel with nothing happening so I guess this picture was something to do. Maybe my companion for the day took it or perhaps I set the Mamiya 645 on timer and ran for it, it is 36 years ago, memory fades.
The DMU is 53493 a Birmingham RC&W class104, according to my notes it was about to work a severe weather special to Crewe. As we finished up in Crewe maybe it did.
