I find something refreshing about looking at the negatives of images, even on the computer. It's like a step back into the darkroom without the smells, bells and clothing stains... man those were the best. I miss the darkroom. My sweatshirt that use to permanently smell like fixer smells more like bounce after the 60th washing and 4 years without a refresh of fixer.

Trying to make negative space
This flickr account was set up to store the negatives I buy at ebay, antique shops, flea markets, etc. I scan or photograph the negatives, process them, and then post them here. I enjoy discovering and revealing these images that otherwise might be lost.
This is from a series of old negatives found in an envelope in a box of photographs at a junk store in Dewey, Oklahoma. Some seem related, others do not. Most are damaged in some way and/or poorly executed in the camera and in the dark room. Many are over- exposed.
To try to make some sense of the group, all were scanned so that obscure details might be revealed.
Now SHE is who i am inside. Her tattoo on her shoulder is exactly what I hope i can get when i turn 18. Its the celtic symbol for pisces, extended and with a simple cross beneath it. I adore her, everything about her.

I took these pictures for this negative print at Venice Beach, CA. I don't remember the process of how we did this. It is four prints on an 8x10.
This is the original picture of how I developed it, overdeveloped it, or underdeveloped it in Photography class. This has not been enhanced or photoshopped in any way.
