Genetic engineering?
An idea I wanted to try, based on a painting by Rene Magritte.
Yes, that is my own huge sized 13 foot! - so, I can't avoid the wide angle distortion - LOL!
I decided to try something new.... I basically decided to build him from blocks, and mold the wings, stomach, and head (only a bit though). You can also move the wings.
I like how he turned out, may change some details later....

No toenails were actually bitten in the making of this photo. Nail biting of any kind is a horrible, nasty, filthy habit.

I've been working on this LEGO MOC for a couple of weeks, based on one of my favourite kiwi artist's most recognisable paintings. Binney also happens to have been my mother-in-law's art teacher at Mt Roskill Grammar School. Took a break from this build to make the Gordon Walters one a couple of days ago, while I waited for a couple of pieces to arrive via Bricklink. This MOC is made from 5 layers of bricks. I did buy a bunch of flexible pneumatic LEGO hose to do the curved black borders, but in the end abandoned that idea. May revisit that idea sometime in the future.
