One of the old windows I came across.
Although it was falling apart, it had some colour left on it.
Also I had the bonus of the birds sitting there.
Hopefully you can see the bench. I didn't want to crop it anymore than I did. Than I used Topaz for the special effects.
Still in quarantine here in Texas. However, I went to Loews today to pick up some stain and it didn't look like everyone was quarantined. Guess everyone was doing like me and working on a home project. I found this really gorgeous front door at a garage sale for $50 with glass inserts. It just needs some tender loving care..:) Can't wait to finish it
Hope everyone is holding up. I don't want to lose any of you..)

All animals in Africa bite, but the safari bug is the worst.

Mariupol is still under siege with mass graves being discovered.
Cleo's Flickr friends know that she always needs a good reason for physical activity and treats ARE a good reason. She found the treats bag in the kitchen, carried it into the garden (probably because she didn't want me to see what she was doing) and used her claws to open the bag. Cleo can indeed be very determined if she has a goal. :)
This is an unposed portrait (shot with permission) of a homeless man in Bristol. He was sat outside a city centre shop with all his worldly possessions plus dogs.
Unfortunately for him, the helping hand in this instance that looks like an 'angel' touching his shoulder, is that of a shop window mannequin behind him. I didn't consciously notice the juxtaposition at the time so it was not staged.
There are many fake beggars on Britain's streets. I don't know this man's personal story (although I know he is known to homeless outreach workers) BUT that something in his eyes cannot be faked. I know he is in pain. And that makes me feel something.

Living is Not Enough. One Needs Sunshine, Freedom... and Flowers
- Hans Christian Andersen
Each of my days begin with a quest for joy, a search that varies in difficulty. Today, it was a ranunculus blossom that delivered a smile.
These flowers, with their almost impossibly perfect, rose-like blooms and tissue-thin petals, are a visual delight.
Their spectrum of colors, from soft creams to vibrant burgundies, is simply breathtaking. While often reserved for high-end arrangements and bridal bouquets, their exquisite beauty has the power to transform an ordinary day into something special.

Done so many things wrong
I don't know if I can do right
Oh, I, oh, I've
Done so many things wrong
I don't know if I can do right
At this point in my life
I've done so many things wrong
I don't know if I can do right
If you put your trust in me
Hope I won't let you down
If you give me a chance I'll try
You see it's been a hard road
The road I'm traveling on
And if I take your hand
I might lead you down the path to ruin
I've had a hard life
Just saying it so you'll understand
Oh, that right now, right now
I'm doing the best I can
At this point in my life
At this point in my life
Though I've mostly walked in the shadows
I'm still searching for the light
Won't you put your faith in me?
We both know that's what matters
If you give me a chance I'll try
You see, I've been climbing stairs
But mostly stumbling down
I've been reaching high
Always losing ground
You see I've conquered hills
I still have mountains to climb
Oh, and right now, right now
I'm doing the best I can
At this point in my life
Before we take a step
Before we walk down that path
Before I make any promises
Before you have regrets
Before we talk commitment
Let me tell you of my past
All I've seen and all I've done
The things I'd like to forget
At this point in my life
At this point in my life
I'd like to live as if only love mattered
As if redemption was in sight
As if the search to live honestly
Is all that anyone needs
No matter if you find it
You see when I've touched the sky
Earth's gravity has pulled me down
But now I've reconciled that in this world
Birds and angels get the wings to fly
If you can believe in this heart of mine
Oh, if you can give it a try
Then I'll reach inside and find and give you
All the sweetness that I have
Oh, at this point in my life
While I am impressed by the additional mask capabilities of Lightroom I would say the Sky selection masking needs some work IMHO, on every image where I have used it has left a halo when I bring the image into Photoshop for final tweaking. Oct and early November are great times of the year to capture lake mist or more technically radiation fog, this occurs because the water has absorbed and retained the suns heat as air that has been cooled by the night temperatures that is moisture laden passes over warmer water of the lake. This scene is of my favorite places to welcome the morning and take in the light show as the sun rises at least when I don’t have a camera in hand and a cup of steaming coffee instead.
I took this on Oct 23rd, 2021 with my D850 and Tamron 15-30 f2.8 G2 Lens at 30mm, 1/5s, f8 ISO 64 processed in LR, PS +Topaz ,and DXO
Disclaimer: My style is a study of romantic realism as well as a work in progress
Good enlarger lens is supposed to transfer the image from the film to the paper with no or very little additional distortion. Paper needs much longer exposures than film, and longer exposures are natural. So EL are slow, sharp, not more contrasty than needed. Colour rendition, for my taste, is most of the time boring. They are designed to be best at short distances.
So, monochrome, macro photo may be my cup of tea.
Taken on a beach walk on Sunday, it was cold, damp and freezing and this couple were the only other people who were braving the conditions. I enjoyed the walk ...bracing is the word that springs to mind though :-)
