Mike just needs to see what I ate tonight. It's revenge for him buying and then eating the cake I have been craving for over a year, but have not been able to find anywhere. Grrrr.

See the warm, gooey brownie covered with melting ice cream, and topped with strawberry sauce? Mmmmmm....

This one still needs some work but I figured I would share it. The green lens flairs on the bottom 3rd of the images are caused by the green laser across the way. As cool as they look sometimes people sure are stupid with them. As I had somebody shoot me in the eye with one...

Everyone needs to live somewhere, even musicians. When he's not on tour Gary Rossington has been calling Jackson home for almost 30 years. Especially during ski season.

Turns out his band, Lynyrd Skynrd is on their 40th anniversary tour and coordinated a stop in Jackson for a show. Needless to say it was a huge crowd and I saw vehicles from as far away as North Dakota and Texas. One thing is for sure, a band thats been playing for 40 years knows how to put on a great show!

Noel

Born 6/302012 8:10pm - Died 6/30/2012 8:20pm

"it needs a name."

"ok, choose a letter."

"g"

"mmm...g is no good, go again."

"n?"

"n...n...n...noel. his name is noel."

"he is creepy."

"like something from pan's labyrinth."

/noel could not "spreken ze dutch", most probably because he was made of paper and children's nightmares. he lived his short, but influential life stoically meditating on the wooden counter of a bar, his neck twisted to gaze back out at the world who had shunned him since his very birth. noel never accused anyone of any wrongdoing insomuch as he accused himself of repeatedly questioning his own existence. why was he born? how did he get here? who controlled his fate?

noel was secure in the knowledge that he wasn't a hipster, but his ennui radiated forth in palpable waves of longing. and while his oversized head continued the ironic process of crushing his overworked spine, noel never complained.

when he was hounded by slightly inebriated and inept paparazzi, noel never caused so much as a stir, even when during his last few precious moments on this earth, against his will, he was dropped

unapologetically into an empty beer glass to live out the remainder of his minutes in a soggy prison as the world's first 'test pint baby'.

sadly, noel never learned to "spreken ze" anything, or wore a pencil behind his ear, and noel never read a book about a hidden agenda because noel knew that if a book had been written about a hidden agenda then the agenda was hidden rather poorly in the first place, but we can all breathe a huge sigh of relief knowing that noel never lived to see the day when oranges rose up to claim eggplant status.

but i think the most disturbing fact of all is that noel never ever got to taste

the sweet, dreamy goodness of a red velvet cupcake even though his

biographers shall go on to claim it as an irrefutable truth that he did.

that my friends, is the real tragedy in all this.

and though his time with us was brief, he will live in our hearts forevermore.

Surrey CC Bus Review phase 1, from August 2010, covered the east of the Woking borough. Arriva won the 73, 81 and 462/3 on tender, so Countryliner took them on commercially. As part of this, they changed the 462/3, taking out the very long double run to serve Ripley, instead routeing them to do the Rydens Way double run and Elmbridge Lane, which enabled route 71 to be withdrawn. SCC paid for a new 562 service to keep Ripley linked with Woking.

Commercial operation of the 462/3 didn't work out, which wasn't a surprise. After a few months on a temporary contract which Countryliner won, they were re-tendered with phase 2 of the review from September 2011. Arriva won again and did take over this time without being foiled. When Arriva took over, the Elm Bridge was closed, and so the 462/3 and 562 were on diversion - the same route structure as before was maintained however, just with a couple of early morning/late afternoon 462/3s routed via Ripley, and the 562 dropping down to only a handful of journeys a day.

When the bridge re-opened, the permanent changes came into effect from 17th October - the 562 was withdrawn for good, while the 462/3 started doing the Ripley double run again (thus meaning they currently double run both Rydens Way and Ripley. The journey time of 53 minutes contrasts with a 463 doing Woking - Guildford in 35 minutes when Countryliner took over the route in 2001!).

So, here, in the last week and a bit of Countryliner operation, Countryliner DP35 (T337 TVM) swings right from Send Marsh Road into Portsmouth Road. Buses serving Ripley turn left here, then have a massive double run up to the A3 junction and back which adds ten minutes to the journey time. So Countryliner had the right idea to drop it really.

Of course, in an ideal world, there would be enough money to provide an attractive service, but SCC can't afford that, so have to make do.

Houston Community College and industry leaders, elected officials and emerging business executives from Stafford are joining forces to solve the workforce needs in the area.

During the Workforce Summit, held Thursday at the Stafford Campus, HCC Chancellor, Dr. Mary Spangler; HCC Southwest President Orfelina (Fena) Garza, Ph.D. and The Honorable Leonard Scarcella, Mayor of Stafford, talked about what Stafford needs and what HCC is doing to fill those needs.

But soooo soft and comfy.

"Proposals put forward by Leicestershire County Council announced to cut back its pupil transport services for those with special educational needs (SEN) and reducing the discounts available to those on low incomes.

Under new plans those with special needs between 16 and 19 could lose their transport - but grants could be available via other council schemes.

The plans also include stopping council arranged taxi and minibus transport to post-16 education."

www.itv.com/news/central/2017-09-15/council-plans-to-scra...

Leicestershire County Council is currently undergoing a significant period of change. The council has to make £66m of savings over the next four years, this is on top of the £161m saved since 2010 – this means difficult decisions about services in all areas of the council’s work.

Currently, we provide transport to nursery and school/college for approximately 400 children with SEN under five, and between the ages of 16-19. We do not have a statutory duty to provide this in the same way we do for children aged 5-16.

Sampson has been our buddy since 2004. In the winter of 2008, he suffered a severe perineal hernia that required a $2000 surgery to repair it. At the time of the surgery, we were told that due to the severity of the hernia that it was likely to reoccur. As predicted, it has reoccurred and he desperately needs more surgery before 2012. Other than the hernia, he is a happy, healthy and active dog who should live to his mid to late teens. Therefore, I cannot in good conscience end his life prematurely. I have also contacted a Corgi rescue in hopes that he could be adopted to a family that is more financially able to care for him. However, since my husband and I can't have children, giving him up for adoption because of health issues seems as ridiculous to us as giving up our 9 year old child for adoption because we can't keep up with the medical expenses. We work in the service industry, living paycheck to paycheck and our credit is not good enough to get a care credit card that would allow us to make payments. To help us pay for Sampson's surgery, we have set up a ChipIn donation site to raise funds for Sampson's surgery. So please consider donating whatever small amount you can to help keep Sampson with the family that loves him. If you can't make a donation, please pass this info along to friends who may be able to help. Sampson, his Corgi buddies Shiloh & Rusty and his human family thank you! Click on the link below to go to Sampson's ChipIn.com page to make your donation. THANK YOU!!

11.11.11 Update: A big thank you to all you wonderful flickr friends! We've received several generous donations from flickr members pushing us over the 13% mark of our goal. Since I've been promoting Sampson's photos, I've found several of them used on websites & blogs. I hold a creative commons license because I'm not a professional photographer and if people like my photos and want to use them, I don't want them to be limited by an exorbitant fee. However, I have a pup in trouble and he needs your help, so, if you like my Corgi photos or save them as favorites, please donate $1; if you use any of my Corgi or animal photos on your website or blog, please donate $5 to: corgisampson.chipin.com/sampson-the-corgis-hernia-surgery...

It's a small price to pay compared to a pro's fee, and it helps a much loved dog in need. Again, we appreciate all efforts & donations, and Sampson & the Corgi Clan thank you!

Ok, I am not a fan of Ford cars but this made me change my mind. A true supercar, the Ford GT only needs a 3.5 L engine to produce around 600+ hp. Not bad - if you can afford the $400,000 price tag. Yikes!

After a year in special needs education, 18-year-old Chalachew Tesfane (who has a mental disability) moved to the first grade. Despite his teacher's initial skepticism, he has become a promising student and is often called upon to help the other students with various activities. With funding from GPE and other development partners the Government of Ethiopia has made great strides in inclusive education, opening up a host of new opportunities for children like Calachew. The Sacred Garden at the Old Mission has changed throughout the years depending on the needs of the Mission. Originally it was a working area where many of the Natives learned trade. It has also served as a vegetable garden, orchards and English garden. Today the quadrangle buildings, which were added in the 1950's, house offices and classrooms.

The Old Mission Santa Barbara was founded by Padre Fermín Lasuén on December 4, 1786, the Feast of Saint Barbara. It was the tenth of twenty-one California missions founded by the Spanish Franciscans to convert the indigenous locals, in this case the Chumash-Barbareño tribe. It is the only one of the missions to remain under the leadership of the Franciscan Friars since its founding, and today serves as the parish church of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.

The early missionaries built three different chapels during the first few years, each successively larger. Construction on the current Mission, at 2201 Laguna Street, started following the the great Santa Barbara Earthquake of 1812. The Spanish Colonial building, designed by Father Antonio Ripoli, was completed in 1820. The towers were damaged during a 1925 earthquake and subsequently rebuilt in 1927, but otherwise the inter and exterior has not been significantly altered.

The first participants of Real Thaw 2022 have landed in Beja

Beja Air Base, the headquarters of Real Thaw 2022 (RT2022), has already started to welcome the first participants of the exercise.

Seven countries will be present at the RT22: Portugal, Belgium, Spain, the United States, France, Lithuania and the Netherlands, with about a thousand soldiers expected. 378 military personnel have started the in-processing phase, so far.

In-processing is composed of different administrative phases that may vary depending on the logistical needs of the participants. This process is important, as it is the first impression that all participants have of the organization of the exercise.

The military committed to RT22 say they have good expectations, saying that they hope to “improve interoperability with participating countries” and that “it is a privilege to be able to work with different armed forces, observe and understand how they work.”

These expectations are in line with the main objective of the exercise, which is to prepare soldiers from the Air Force, the Navy and the Army, and from the participating countries, to act in joint and combined operations, enhancing interoperability between them all.

The multinational exercise will take place between June 26th and July 8th and has the participation of 54 aircraft and national forces from the Air Force, the Navy and the Army.
