The air was crisp this morning, the temperatures finally dropping to something more bearable. Everyone milled about and you could feel the vibration of excitement. Yancy stood to the side and watched the groups form up and couples pairing off; she maintained her solitude. She liked it this way, she always had.

"Have you made any friends? You only get so many chances before summer comes around again, and everyone is stuck inside," her mother had said multiple times. The young woman dodged the social jabs with practiced ease now. She was a lone wolf, a hermit, a Yan-Solo... Yancy smirked despite herself. She didn't need friends or people. People *watching* was her thing. After all, you didn't have to remember someone's name of you never asked for it.

Diverse issues are brought up in the meetings: renovations to make the houses less vulnerable to water damage; water filtration systems; how best to inform the elderly to move to safer grounds; conflict resolution in the evacuation centres during a crisis; and others.

The last Mk I variant to be produced using the Tritec engine was the Mini Cooper S with John Cooper Works GP Kit: a light-weight, quasi-race-prepped John Cooper Works model. Hand-finished by Bertone in Italy, it was offered as a limited-production run of 2000 cars during the 2006 model year, with 444 of those originally intended for the UK market (although ultimately, 459 were sold). The GP features more bolstered front seats but had no rear seats, which along with reduced sound-deadening, removal of the rear wash-wipe system, optional air-conditioning, and other weight-reduction steps, resulted in a weight saving of around 40 kg (88 lb) compared to a Cooper S. Additionally, the car had enhanced braking, suspension, a smooth under-body and 218 hp (163 kW) from the John Cooper Works engine modification package. In place of the rear seats there is additional body stiffening and below-floor storage areas. The car also offered many unique styling points, such as the red door mirrors, a carbon fiber rear spoiler, unique body kit, bespoke (2 kg lighter) 4-spoke alloy wheels, and specialised badging. Available in just one colour scheme (Thunder Blue with a Pure Silver roof), each car was individually numbered and featured a decal on the roof along with a plaque on the dashboard. The last of the supercharged Minis and a genuine Limited Edition model, there is a high potential for the Mini Cooper S with John Cooper Works GP Kit to become a collector's item.

Pretty Obvious what the Democrats have been doing for quite a few years.

I hear the figure that each immigrant coming into this country costs the taxpayers $64,000 per year.

I don't know the ins and outs of that figure, but, it seems OBVIOUS that immigrants get all kinds of perks, from welfare to business loans, that ordinary, native born Americans do NOT.

We have HUGE numbers of Americans who have lost everything, and are homeless. Yet, the only 'help' they get, is to shuffle from church to church, day in, day out, to find shelter for the night. And, when the weather turns warm enough, the churches close their overnight shelters, and people sleep outside, with the mosquitoes.

So, once again, with the Leftist Cult, Americans come LAST.

Native born American's don't get grants to open up 7/11 stores. I believe immigrants do. ..Why is this?

In the past, immigrants accepted that they would have to start at the bottom, and take the jobs others didn't want. And, slowly, generation by generation, work their way up to the middle class.

No more. Free grants to start million $$$$ dollar franchises come form the gov't. NOT to Americans, but to immigrants.

For what possible reason is this justified?

And, of course, we see the Caravan of Illegals, organized by Foreign, and probably American Leftist organizations, intended to try to somehow 'embarrass' the Trump administration during the election. They assume they have a RIGHT to come to America.

I know that I do NOT have a right to emigrate to other countries. Many countries are very restrictive in who they allow to come and live. You need to have plenty of money, skills, and you can't be a burden upon their tax payers. You have to have something they NEED to be allowed in. You can't be old, poor, sick, criminal, etc.

Not so in the USA.....the Democrats say, 'Come on in!'......everything will be provided to you by the government, and we will finance the costs with debt that the children of our taxpayers will be paying on the rest of their lives.

The democrats know that a new population base of poor 3rd world immigrants will know nothing of the American history and heritage. This new massive wave of immigrants will NOT have the traditional values the American People have always had, to be self reliant, and to feel shame at accepting welfare.

Thus, these new immigrants can often have their loyalty to the democrat party bought by gov't benefits.

Many immigrants do also adhere to the traditional values of Americans, and stay away from such welfare hand outs.

I myself have worked with many such immigrants. They are good people and very much like the other immigrants who came to America before, long ago.

However, the American People have the RIGHT to INSIST upon tough screening of immigration, as to who we allow in. We have the right to protect out labor markets from the overwhelming immigration levels which have kept wages stagnant for decades.

The Trump administration has made great strides in stopping such massive immigration, and wages have JUMPED significantly, just with these obvious measures.

But, much more needs to be done.

The Democrat party is working hard to thwart any of the badly needed immigration reforms. They continue to turn states and cities into 'Sanctuaries' where Federal immigration laws will be ignored, and to refuse to allow illegal aliens to be prosecuted for their crimes.

The Democrat party's plan is to TRANSFORM America. They can't do this if they have to rely upon Americans voting them into power. Too many Americans have become wise to the democrat's games. So, the democrats need to flood the country with low skilled immigrants.

Who needs an inner-city IKEA?

“Frappant” Building in Hamburg-Altona situated in the Neue Grosse Bergstrasse, opened in 1973 as part of a highly praised and worldwide noticed concept of inner-city shopping and as a state of the art 70’s architecture. The world war two shaken and bombed street stood for a new and modern approach in which the gigantic building stood as a landmark. Already two years later and as an impact of the ‘73 oil crisis and its effects on business, the concept came to crisis, due to simple lack of profit. Different companies and enterprises tried to reprofit and revitalize the building, but failed through the years. Meanwhile the concept of concrete casted moderness also came to crisis and the last remaining retailer Karstadt left the building in 2003. The empty building, now under real estate speculation and not properly maintained, was then used by artists, musicians and alternative music-clubs, while the city was still unsuccessfully looking for new investors. Suspicious about the now alternative, non-profit but vital use of the building, the ECA, a local lobby group of business and politicians, started labeling the building as an eyesore and pressure was build up to tear it down. Politicians (including the Green Party) then offered the building to IKEA, that had already focused on another spot closer the motorway and never dreamed of such an offer. This decision then led to wide protest among the local population, fearing gentrification through higher rents and increasing pollution from Ikea traffic. Politicians and lobby groups now unsure of the developing resistance, staged a referendum in the district, under the suggestive question: Are you in favour of a new Ikea in Altona, that will sustainable vitalize and increase attractiveness of the Grosse Bergstrasse. An assertion that has yet to be proofed. Pro-Ikea, winning the referendum by 77%, gave way to IKEA to buy and build. With this decision, alternative concepts of a low and non-profit use were binned and to avoid squatting the whole building was soon demolished by the district.

Meanwhile, Ikea not having even started to build their 7 stories inner-city big-box, shop and resident rents in the area are leveling up and the first old shops already had to close or go. The area now started to become an investment-ground for real estate and with the rising of the Ikea building site, whole plans to restructure other parts of the street are in full affect.

The topic is as controversial and polarized as it was from the very start: Critics claim, that Ikea will not just bring traffic and pollution, but also and more important, a total change of the local structure, both in local business as in housing. It is feared that other chain companies like Starbucks , H&M and others will eventually destroy the local shops and social structure. It is also criticized that a box is replaced by a box, making the street even more narrow and shady. The resistance against IKEA not merely is a resistance against the company, but also a struggle for Altona-Altstadt, their diverse and not very wealthy population, their wellbeing and their very own right to the city.

Just needs a few more spikes and ballast. Almost there... As of June 7, 2012.
