So Im creating a portfolio of work for college which will include photos of some of my figures. I want to bring at least 4 actual figs with me too, but need help deciding which ones;

Hong Kong, shot from Kowloon Peak (not to be mistaken with Victoria Peak), I had to use my 70-200mm at 200mm. Also to get this shot you need perfect clear weather conditions, which were exceptional that night.
This is why we need Christmas lights. Truthfully, I never really appreciated them until I relocated to this little isolated village at the end of a goat road. It's 7 a.m. as I type this, and black as pitch outside. But lights glow in the village square and along the streets. I made this shot on a dull, grey hoarfrost morning - thankful for the lights as we wait for longer daylight hours on this, the other side of the Winter Solstice.
I am off to meet a photographer friend in Alberta and shoot for a few days, so this is my last post until my return. My very best wishes to all of you; your wonderful photos inspire me to push harder and dive deeper. I can't wait to see what we'll all come up with over the next year!

Without make-up, I'm in this way, as you can see
...and I need to wear my climbing helmet on a simple walk with camera. A week ago Sunday at the end of our trail walk I tripped onto concrete. I have learned to fall and roll, mostly, but did land on my head a bit too hard.
Thus, while taking it slower this week, I'll post this from 29 May, 2018. The date shown on the exif data is wrong. The new camera needed a tiny new battery for the date.
I hope you take care if you're looking up or at birds or bees or composing a landscape photo while walking. Only the lens cap and my head chipped a bit, and we can't replace the head.

We needed a walk out this morning, no matter what the weather so headed down to Nudgee Beach about 9.00am. We had a bit of sunshine this morning but it didn't last long before Brisbane's five month bout of incessant rain came in again. I wasn't game to take a camera out in case it got wet so naturally, it didn't rain and there were a few good seascape and bird shots to be had. I guess the phone was better than nothing.
We then stopped by Schulz Canal near where it hugs the airport on the way back and as it was still dry, I dragged the Nikon out and took a few shots. Another sunken yacht was spotted, mast and upper works only while in the distance, the airport seemed quite busy. I believe this was Qantas QF 51 climbing out, the mid morning flight to Singapore back after COVID and operated as usual with Airbus A330-200 equipment but I am uncertain as to which aircraft registration number (probably VH-EBV Kangaroo Island) as my Qantas tracker seems to have died with the virus. It is taking off from the new runway 19R (1..9..Right) into the south west and will eventually turn north east.
The buildings in the centre of the shot are hotels near the Domestic terminal while the tower is over to the right.
Aircraft noise resulting from the new runway is a major problem at the moment despite the adoption of flight paths and operations to minimise it. After a recent enquiry, which vindicated residents' complaints, further planning is underway to reduce the noise levels more significantly.

Needing to remind myself. It's been almost 5 weeks since my fall. Maybe another month or so once I've done physio. I'll be waiting for the snow and ice to go away first too.
