Thanks to my dad's great map reading skills we where able to navigate our way around easily. Google maps is a bit temperamental in Japan for some reason!
The smaller rocks at the bottom of this pool remind me of salmon swimming upstream. They appear to be navigating through the two larger rocks. I originally processed this shot in color but I was happier with the black and white version. Nik Silver Efex is such a great tool.
Wishbone, a male yearling sea lion, was rescued by The Marine Mammal Center on Nov 14, 2011 from the Monterey USCG Jetty. He was entangled in fishing line.
After the fishing line was removed and a couple of weeks of respite and care at The Marine Mammal Center's hospital in Sausalito, he was released back to the wild at Chimney Rock, Point Reyes on Friday, Dec. 2, 2011.
The Marine Mammal Center is a nonprofit marine mammal hospital that relies on 80% of its funding from the public. Learn more, volunteer and donate at: www.MarineMammalCenter.org
