To reach the port of Ilulissat in late July, ships may have to navigate through the treacherous remnants of ice floes from the nearby glacier. Once we waited until morning to dock.
This lone Roseate Spoonbill was foraging the shallow waters at Celery Field, Florida. It seemed to have some difficulty navigating the thick tangle of vegetation in the fresh-water marsh, and often had mud and other matter (which I'd rather not describe) affixed to its long, flat bill.
Navigate the landscape, the trees dressed in their best autumnal attire.....the waters are now starting to sway...take a mental snap shot of nature's wonder.....
close your eyes as the cool crisp air hits the face...
keep them closed
listen to the song
when the last note plays
open your eyes....
The star of the show is the cliff scene by MINIMAL , I wouldn't even call it a scene, it can easily be used as part of your landscaping :

This is an overview of how the backwaters interconnect. The backwaters are made up of lakes, rivers and canals. The boats that provide transportation are found in all shapes and sizes. The large boat is one of the house boats made from an old rice barge. Very clever transformation I would say. And now tourists flock to Kerala for an overnight stay on a houseboat.

I found some interesting old houses in Norwich, CT. This one stood out boldly through the green summer foliage.
These small ducks nest in trees and have amazing flying abilities, they can easily navigate through the trees avoiding branches with ease. This particular female was nesting in a tree trunk and made several sorties out of her nest into neighboring pond.

It's been awhile SL.
In the two years I've been away I've purchased a home, navigated some serious health issues, starting working from home full time and lost someone very dear to me due to Covid-19. SL becomes my refuge when my RL world is broken and honestly I am glad to have it back in my life. Its a strange relationship we develop with our avatars. They are not us but they are connected to us. Annie the avi was due for a little TLC and I honestly had a blast (and went broke! haha) giving her an upgrade.
Glad to be back. Some things are different but also very much the same. I like that.
Been cleaning my school bag.
I keep all the pencils I find and lend them to students who have lost theirs... Recycling
Homage to all teachers and people who keep helping kids and parents navigating these dark days.
Even the most damaged and smallest pencil is helpful.

Much of what you see was not here years ago. The constant storms take from the Northern Beaches and pile it up here. It's always changing. Thanks for the visit and have a good Weekend.

An autumn day near Wheeldale , the North York Moors .
In the Middle Ages crossing 30 odd miles of an often trackless ' Blackamoor ' between the monastic settlements of York and Whitby was a hazardous undertaking

I came across this field full of snow geese and noticed that they were in rows !!!! Very orderly, I must say !! Actually, they had landed in the stubble of a harvested corn field and it is easier for them to navigate by staying in the corn rows !! Maxatawny Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania.
