I love this old statue. It's just a pain to shoot because there's no good angle other than UP. I had been trying to shoot this for a while but the evil street light was washing it out with orange. Glad I swung by; the street light was out!

We have closely prescribed points to hit as we chase the car without interfering with the race itself. Maps, GPS, and route guides all work together to get us to where we need to be. We have decent line-of-site radio contact with the car within 15km - useful for getting an update on the car before they arrive at service points.
When I left my last work-term, they gave me the topographical maps to 55N 106W as a going away present. This point the most Northern confluence point, yet to be achieved in Saskatchewan.
Here we are, in the middle of nowhere (well, actually 9km away from 55N 106W) walking through the forest with no trail, no camp wardens, and plenty of bog.
Dropping the reins is a good practice towards increasing awareness of your body, your energy and communication with your horse. It requires you to put a considerable amount of trust in your horse and to be willing to let him do his job. In this photo, this horse wanted to make the choice to exit early and not deal with the whole log scramble. Naquel needed to over emphasize 'wrong choice' by adding some lean.
