This is from Serralves, a museum/garden where a 40h non-stop arts festival will take place this weekend . I guess it will be too busy to take a nap there for the next 2 days.

The Scaly-naped Pigeon (Patagioenas squamosa), also known as the Red-necked Pigeon:
The scaly-naped pigeon is a large slate grey pigeon with maroon coloured plumage around the neck. The plumage on the species' nape appears scaly, explaining the both the common, and scientific name of the species. There is a bare patch of skin which surrounds the birds red eyes; this patch tends to be reddish in males and more yellow in females. The legs and the base of the bill of the species are red, while the remainder of the bill is light coloured. The range of the Scaly-naped Pigeon includes both the Greater Antilles and Lesser Antilles. The species tends to occur in rain forests, however it may also be found in drier lowland woodlands; the species generally shuns areas of human settlement.

This guy was did in by the heat and humidity and decided to nap on the bench at Merchant's Square in Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia. No one bothered him - it was a hot day and he was not bothering anyone.
This was an unusual spot to find Dempsey. Usually during the day, he naps with Halley on my bedroom chair or in Olaf’s kennel.
Nick was peacefully napping on the couch. I took the opportunity to take some photos of him before he grows any bigger. Because he just keeps growing!
Cortney takes advantage of my having wandered off to shoot a moose for a little nap on Adirondack Lake.
I came to realize today that lots of the groups I joined when I started flickr are not very interesting to me. I usually glance down at the groups thing on my main page when I log in, don't see a single photo that intrigues me and go on my way. On the other hand people I have as contacts regularly take stunning photos that either inspire me or blow me away because they are far beyond my ability to ever create. So my question is, are there any groups that anyone here is part of that regularly have awesome photos that you really enjoy or find inspiring??
