I've been extremely unproductive lately...
Probably due to the sudden and misfortunate death of my E-520 (camera pictured here) and my care for my E-500 to not take it out in unpredictable conditions anymore because its just getting to be so worn...
Soon enough I will have my E-3, 14-54, etc. and this Colorado weather wont keep me indoors anymore!!!

... but You deserve the Whole Tree!!
End of school year Teacher gift.
This is the 2nd of 3 teacher gift cookie boxes I featured in my e-flyer.
March 30th 2012 will be remembered by me for a very long time and for one particular reason probably forever.
The day started with an unexpected surprise. When I opened my e-mails that morning I found there one what I was not ready for. If I would say that this e-mail was unpleasant it would be too polite. I have to be honest and in a way I deserved it with my behavior but I was made to believe it was fine and without any bad consequences. I was misled and the result of it was that e-mail in my Inbox.
I was confused and I felt bad. I needed to clear my mind and what would be better than to take a camera and go outside. That’s what I did. I was working in a not very convenient environment for a camera – there was water around and ice, fallen trees and some slippery moss covered stones but I was careful as I have always been and even more careful knowing in what condition I was.
I had been taking pictures for more than an hour but at one point the disaster struck. I still don’t know why or how did it happen. I was looking away for a moment. What I heard next was a crash and when I turned my head I saw my tripod the camera attached down on the stones and half of the lens nearby …
Do I need to say that I was in a shock? I don’t think it’s necessary. I could not understand what had happened nor could I understand how but the fact was laying down in front of my eyes - my Canon EF 70-300 mm F4.5-5.6 DO IS USM lens broken into two pieces and my camera badly scratched at one place but it seemed to be working.
But that fatal day (for my lens) had not ended yet. Late in the evening I received another e-mail saying things what I had not been expecting. It was from a friend or at least from someone who I considered to be a friend and support me in the chaos not started by me. But instead of a support the e-mail was about keeping away from me. I felt betrayed. I felt I did not deserve to be treated like this.
I was heartbroken over the broken lens and probable damage to the camera and over the broken trust.
As I found out today my Canon 5D is okay and still trustworthy. The faith of the lens is still unknown. They need to make the calculations what I will not learn before the holidays and then I have to make a decision if it would be worth to repair it or not.
All I can do now is to wait. I don’t like to wait. But at least I know that the problem with the lens will be solved in one or another way. What about the other problem? It’s out of my hands.

Project: Memory Tower
This particular photograph was shot in the basement of the deserted tower block of Cour du Parc here on Guernsey. You can perhaps imagine how I felt when I happened these little guys sitting down in the basement of a deserted tower block in the pitch black of night!!
I am extremely happy to report that my solo exhibition of 'Project: Memory Tower' was a great success. It has been an incredible experience, and one that I hope to repeat again in the near future.
Thanks to all that helped me along the way (there are a few!) and here's to the next exhibition.

Lviv, Ukraine, 9.mar.2022 - Freshly trained soldiers give farewell to relatives, girlfriends and wifes as they board a train to the frontline in Dnipro, in the center of the country, this Wednesday 9th. The troops reinforce the defense of the city that in recent days became a target of the russians in an effort to isolate the east of Ukraine (specially Donbass) from the rest of the country

STREAM OF NARUO0720:
www.flickr.com/photos/13071281@N00/
Naruo0720 is my friend in Osaka. I tried to call but does not respond to my e-mail. So I made a collage of your favorite photos with the middle two seagulls looking for food in the water. I ask his friends to flickr if you have news. He is a great photographer and had many friends. You should know that only with these few pictures of the collage I counted 5,000 comments!
Now there is the drama of nuclear! Everything is at risk of contamination: air, water, animals and even the Japanese!
WE MUST PRAYER !

Damn, it's been so busy I've been MIA. This is why this lens is always on my E-M5. It's sharp wide open, YAY!
I finally created an instagram account, I'm E_P_3. Please add me if you're an instagramer.
I'm very introverted. Having an eating disorder makes it so much harder to make myself go out, see my friends (who love me for who i am) go to work, etc..
I have a hard time truly feeling things, and I think it's from years of emotional damage. From suffering from personality disorder (caused by my E.D.) It makes me feel very... non-human sometimes.
I get worried that maybe I'm not a good person. What kind of person has a hard time feeling?
I get worried there's a demon side of me, and I worry that one day I won't be able to hold her back.
It's the monster in me. The monster that the E.D. has placed in my mind.
Everyday I'm a survivor.

Just came across this Orb from a while ago that I must have forgotten to upload which is nice, as I have not been out during the week of the full moon for months due to other commitments.
The conundrum remains for this evening though - what on earth am I going to photograph for my 366 tonight? The weather is dreadful outside! Mid-June my ar$e!

This is a shot of Nickels Arcade located near the campus of The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. The shot was taken in mid afternoon so the ceiling would be illuminated. I think an early evening shot might be better since the lights would be on.
This is a handheld HDR comprised of 3 exposures. I set the autobracketing feature of my E-500 to take exposures 1 EV apart. I then processed the images using Photomatix and a little Photoshop to do some minor curves and sharpening work. Overall I like it, although I think the image has too much noise. I think there is also a bit of lens distortion, some of which I corrected, but some distortion remains.

While riding on my e-bike, I stopped alongside a busy highway and took this shot of some beautiful livestock grazing in the grass during a late autumn afternoon.
I photographed this scene with my Minolta SRT-303 film SLR with a Minolta Celtic 135mm f/2.8 lens loaded with FujiFilm 400 35mm film. After getting negatives and prints back from the lab, I scanned the negative with my Epson V600 film scanner, matching the print.

Walking in Central Park, I was mesmerized by this gentleman's face. My fingers ITCHED to take a photo. I wanted mostly to capture the blue translucence of his eyelids and his nautical hat. He had a companion with him, a kind man who was totally amenable to me taking some photos. I gave him my e-mail address, and he e-mailed before we even left New York! Here is his e-mail:
We met today in the park. You took a picture of my good friend, Jan Mitchell. I didn't ask you if you were a native New Yorker. Jan Mitchell owned one of the most popular restaurants in Manhattan. It was on 14th Street and was called, Luchow's. I cannot tell you how many people have stopped us to tell us they miss his restaurant. He also is a trustee of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He even has his collection of Pre Columbian gold there. It's called the Jan Mitchell Treasury. Thanks for being so kind. He does have a great face, doesn't he? It was nice meeting you. Rocco
Thank you, Roco! Mr. Mitchell is certainly a lucky man for your friendship and I am a lucky woman having met you!
To my dismay, I didn't capture Mr. M. exactly the way I wanted. But, he's here!
Mr. Mitchell is #10 in my Hundred Strangers Project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at www.100strangers.com/
Among the most common birds in the woodpecker family, flickers have a range that covers most of the United States. This one was taking a brief break to stretch and ruffle its plumage on an old solitary tree in the Little Missouri National Grassland a couple of evenings ago (4-14-2024).
I don't consider myself a "birder" by any stretch of the imagination and this is a relatively large crop of the best frame I had of this little bird. Now I understand why bird images can become so addictive, though! One is always striving to get just the right pose, light and focus, all at one time, hoping the subject will do something that is a bit unique... The bird tracking/focus on my E-M1X is one of the features I love, for even with my slower telephoto it usually does quite well so long as there's sufficient light and contrast. I've hesitated obtaining a teleconverter. My 100-400mm is nice (this is handheld and I love the image stabilization, I must admit), even stretched this far, but still "slow" thanks to the variable aperature. I'll be studying and contemplating, to be sure, while admiring the excellent images some of my experienced contacts obtain. :)

OK, so that was the first thing I thought of when I looked at this photo.... I know, old song... but it popped into my head for some reason... =)
So, Flickr seems to be working better for me... I can see all thumbnails and nearly all photos. However, now I'm not feeling too well (I think it's the weather or something... has me feeling blah...) so, I'm probably not going to be online quite as much... and therefor, will probably be not very comment-y... =)
Anyway, I'd like to thank the following people for their super sweet testimonials....
and
Thank you all, sooo much!! =)
Please check them out!!! =)
