I'm very introverted. Having an eating disorder makes it so much harder to make myself go out, see my friends (who love me for who i am) go to work, etc..

I have a hard time truly feeling things, and I think it's from years of emotional damage. From suffering from personality disorder (caused by my E.D.) It makes me feel very... non-human sometimes.

I get worried that maybe I'm not a good person. What kind of person has a hard time feeling?

I get worried there's a demon side of me, and I worry that one day I won't be able to hold her back.

It's the monster in me. The monster that the E.D. has placed in my mind.

Everyday I'm a survivor.

Just came across this Orb from a while ago that I must have forgotten to upload which is nice, as I have not been out during the week of the full moon for months due to other commitments.

The conundrum remains for this evening though - what on earth am I going to photograph for my 366 tonight? The weather is dreadful outside! Mid-June my ar$e!

A re-shoot of a previous shot that I quite liked. The previous version was heavily cropped and so it's good to have this image back in my collection in all its high-res goodness.

While riding on my e-bike, I stopped alongside a busy highway and took this shot of some beautiful livestock grazing in the grass during a late autumn afternoon.

I photographed this scene with my Minolta SRT-303 film SLR with a Minolta Celtic 135mm f/2.8 lens loaded with FujiFilm 400 35mm film. After getting negatives and prints back from the lab, I scanned the negative with my Epson V600 film scanner, matching the print.

Among the most common birds in the woodpecker family, flickers have a range that covers most of the United States. This one was taking a brief break to stretch and ruffle its plumage on an old solitary tree in the Little Missouri National Grassland a couple of evenings ago (4-14-2024).

I don't consider myself a "birder" by any stretch of the imagination and this is a relatively large crop of the best frame I had of this little bird. Now I understand why bird images can become so addictive, though! One is always striving to get just the right pose, light and focus, all at one time, hoping the subject will do something that is a bit unique... The bird tracking/focus on my E-M1X is one of the features I love, for even with my slower telephoto it usually does quite well so long as there's sufficient light and contrast. I've hesitated obtaining a teleconverter. My 100-400mm is nice (this is handheld and I love the image stabilization, I must admit), even stretched this far, but still "slow" thanks to the variable aperature. I'll be studying and contemplating, to be sure, while admiring the excellent images some of my experienced contacts obtain. :)

OK, so that was the first thing I thought of when I looked at this photo.... I know, old song... but it popped into my head for some reason... =)

So, Flickr seems to be working better for me... I can see all thumbnails and nearly all photos. However, now I'm not feeling too well (I think it's the weather or something... has me feeling blah...) so, I'm probably not going to be online quite as much... and therefor, will probably be not very comment-y... =)

The image circle of this lens is pretty small and doesn't fully cover the APS-C sensor, but it does on my E-M5. The lens is insanely sharp at f2. In fact, it made absolutely no difference to the sharpness with aperture stopped down, except to add more vignette, since the aperture does not go between lenses but in the front under the built-in UV filter. Even at f2, the contrast and definition is excellent. I would have been very happy if it covers full frame.

Just out trying an old Zuiko Auto Macro lens via adaptor on my E-M5iii

Hello everyone and welcome to NYLONTv. I'm Victoria Clarsson. This space will be dedicated to catching up with the models we had the chance to feature on our magazine, the models who are making history in the fashion industry and more. Today we are thrilled to introduce you a face that isn't strange to the modeling industry, or to you, the amazing Chanel Spears.

Victoria: Hello Chanel and welcome to NYLONTv. It's such a pleasure to have you here, I feel like it's been years since we saw each other.

Chanel: Oh and it's been a while actually Victoria, but I'm finally here and let me tell you, I missed you a lot, ofc we can always talk over the phone or on Skype, but it's not the same. So let me thank you from the bottom of my heart for inviting me today for this interview.

Victoria: You're welcome honey. So tell me, how's life, now that you're a mom of a beautiful baby boy named Jack, I bet some things are definitely different.

Chanel: Yes, things are a lot different actually. For the good, I think. Being a mom it's a extraordinary thing, I feel so blessed by having Jack, he's my everything and I can not imagine my life without him. My life is totally changed, I'm no longer the girl who lived for fashion, I admit I may have lost myself for a long time, but I guess it's normal for a woman who has kids, it's something that we can't avoid as much as we want. My priority is my son and I don't regret taking a time off for his education, of course he has a lot to learn, he's just a baby, but I think it's really important for a mom to stand by her son on his first year and that's what I did. For a whole year, I didn't cared about fashion shows, or shoots, I just wanted to focus on my baby, and let me tell you I had a blast, my son is a really funny guy, he communicates so much, he's always trying to talk to me, he's not quiet at all, so the first nights were basically a hell, but like I said, I don't regret anything.

Victoria: We can tell on your instagram how much you love your son and how adorable he is, He's so cute and awesome, and I agreed with you. Things are about to change, and I'm really exited about this news, can we share them with the world?

Chanel: Yes we can (giggles). So I'm officially back on the business. That's why I did the cover for NYLONBeauty which was awesome, and I'll be back on the covers of magazines, NYLON included, next month actually. I'll be on the cover of NYLON wearing the fantasy bra, the first ever 10 million bra, by this iconic magazine. I'm incredibly honored and I couldn't be more happy. This is such a good thing, to be back and to be feature on something so special, I have no words.

Victoria: That's right guys, NYLON will be having Chanel wearing a 10 million bra on the cover of the magazine for the month of December. This is our last magazine this year, which it's been crazy good, so what better way to finish it with style and luxury? This is perfect, and it's definitely something we'll repeat every year, so that's one of the news. We know how hard it is to be ready for this world again after having a child, so how do you prepare yourself? Because you look hotter than ever.

Chanel: I'm so exited. Well, I have to say it wasn't easy, I still think I have a lot of work to do, I get a lot curvier, which is not a horrible thing, but you, just gym, diet and yoga. I love yoga it's so relaxing and good for your body at the same time. I went back to the gym soon as my stitches were out, so it's been a while training like a pro and following the diet my doctor gave me. I knew I had to go back to modeling, I've never had intentions of quitting, so I had that really decided on my mind, that no matter what, I had to be back, I still live for this, I love my job, I had to do it. But I have to be honest, for a long time, I didn't know what was putting on make-up and going to the salon, because my main focus was my child, I worked to have a nice shape, but anything else was out of my life. I didn't cared about fashion, or hair.

Victoria: I think there's some good advice's there and I really need to give a chance to yoga, seriously. Didn't you miss it? You are know by having a glam squad all over you all the time. I guess you liked having them around.

Chanel: I have to be honest and say yes. I love my glam squad. I don't have them around me all the time like most of the people say, but when I'm working I need them. I can not deal with my hair or do my own makeup, I'm not that great, unfortunately. But I wish I had them during my year off, we kept in touch, always, but I'd rather have them, than paparazzi's.

Victoria: Yes, you had a hard time with them, how it was like to be followed by them all the time? I know the feeling, but nothing like yours, some of them can be really awful.

Chanel: It was horrible, Of course I understand it's their job, but I wish they would understand that I have a child now, I need to protect him, and his life, I mean, I choose this life, but he did not, and Jack doesn't have to deal with my choices. But it was awful, it still is, my now it's not that horrible, before I couldn't go outside with my son and live like a normal person.

Victoria: I unfortunately know how bad they can be. But I think that disaster may be over for now, I think they care more about you at the moment, I mean, you were such a good model, you're were always on magazines, competitions and so many other projects. Do you stay in touch with any of the other models?

Chanel:Yeah I do. My sister Ariel is actually travelling all over the world, she had a rough time so I understand she had to stay away a little, but I also think she find her love in photography. Every morning I wake up with lots of photos of her on my e-mail, it's cute, I think she'll be a great photographer... We both know she wasn't that crazy about modeling, but I'm really happy for her, she find her passion and there's nothing better than that. I also kept touch with Neon, she's actually going back to L.A so I think we'll have news from her really soon! After the BNTM C.3 disaster, she wanted to quit everything, gladly she didn't. I don't know what she's planning to do it, but of course modeling is involved. Rita Dallas finally opened her atelier and you have to check her clothes, they're to die for! And that's all. I don't know many of them to be honest, because you know how crazy our life can be.

Victoria: Yeah I know, that's why I'm glad to find my spot here on NYLONTv. I love L.A and I was always so sad when I had to leave. It's great to know the other girls are doing fine, and I will definitely keep my eye on Neon. You'll be having a exclusive photoshoot for NYLONTv now, so, last question: Will you be joining any competition soon?

Chanel:I think I will Victoria, but we have to wait and see!

Victoria: It's great to have you back, and I can't wait to see the new cover of NYLON, I bet you'll be awesome. This is everything for now, thank you so much Chanel. Love ya girl!

Chanel: Thank you too, it's a honor!

This is all for now, stay tuned for another flash interview. See you soon, xoxo.

I was cat sitting and Coquelicot created continous photo opportunities.

A popular view and certainly not my most enjoyable place to take a photograph. If only there weren't any other photographers in the national parks... hmmmm. The mist you can see is the smoke from the Bridalveil Falls wildfire, which is adding a ton of atmosphere. As crowded as this location may be, it is still stunningly beautiful.

Almost 4 million people have left Ukraine since the Russian mass invasion started on Feb. 24th. Saw this while walking in my neighbourhood. Used the popart fliter in my E-PL1 to enhance the colours.

Mike to the right of the picture was attending the MLK Day of Action March. I assume the other person is his son.

The march started at North Broad St at the Philadelphia School Administration building and end at Independence Mall where more speeches were given.

I liked this sign and the day glow green color so I ask him for a portrait. I originally tried a shot with my E-PL5 but the 90mm lens was too long as it was too crowded to back up much. So I took another with my iPhone (always good to have an alternate). I gave him my card.

I did not talk long, not wanting to interrupt the ongoing speeches. Mike is from Philly area. First time coming to protest event. He was called by the MLK Day message this year to be active in protest like the original marches. Only by mass action will the system change for the better.
