Here are a couple of photos of a moose I spotted this weekend while spending a late afternoon in the mountains. We have a pretty good population of Moose in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah and it is interesting where they sometimes turn up. Moose are often called the most dangerous mammal in North America because they are very territorial and protective of young and they are huge and fast.
These photos were taken from a safe distance with my E-M1Mark3 and Panasonic 200mm + 2x teleconverter (800mm equiv).
This is another off the beaten path waterfall on Vancouver Island.
A fair amount of bushwacking was involved in finding and shooting at this spot.
Interested in my e-book featuring directions for getting to 28 of Vancouver Island's best accessible waterfals?
The book features average lengths of time to get to the waterfalls as well as waterfall photography tips.
If so, here's a link: www.amazon.ca/Vancouver-Island-Waterfalls-accessible-wate...

Sent my OMD EM1 mark II to Olympus repair, back to using my E-3 in the meantime, photo taken in Portland, Maine, adult feeding youngster!
The noise of the volcano and it's power as the lava flows in to the ocean is phenominal. A completely unstoppable force of nature and I can't believe I was lucky enough to have the chance to photograph it. It was, however, a shame that the experience was somewhat ruined by inconsiderate tourists with no respect for other people or the volcano.
You can watch my YouTube Video and see the entire 'behind the scenes' shoot. Warts and all.

Well, I am normally not in the habit of posting multiple images from the same shoot unless I am totally happy with the outcome. But, the weather it so dreadful right now and I find myself wading through some shots from the last few weeks wondering which ones I feel like posting without getting too annoyed about covering old ground. There are a few thankfully, and so here we go. The weather looks pretty awful for the week ahead, and so it is time to bite the bullet!
I hope whoever sees this is experiencing better weather than I am right now.

In our village the War Memorial is in the church, so our parade and service is held in the afternoon. I have put my E flat tuba away and will save my back on the marches and play cornet again. We should feel lucky to be alive, both my father and grandfather saw action in the wars and survived. So many didn't.
I spent the day trying to capture as much of autumn as possible. I shot a vibrant, colourful sunrise, I photographed groves of autumn trees and I captured the beautiful mountains of Cumbria. It was a great day, but it was this image that got my attention more than anything.
This is a disused quarry lake with lots of autumn leaf litter floating on the surface of the water. The reflection you see in the background is that of the slate quarry walls. I just love how the little orange leaves contrast so well with dark slate.
A great little abstract number that I believe will be around for a long time.

One of the Orbs that we made during the 1:1 LP Workshop on Sunday night.
ZUCCHERO - Ridammi il sole
Lo sai che cosa e' la gioia
Tu lo sai cos'e'
E allora perche' sei cosi' gaia
Tu lo sai perche'
Di un cuore puro e in fiamme
E gonfio come un bigne'
Che danno solo le donne
Le donne come te
Ridammi il sole
Che avevo dentro me
Ridammi il sole
Che piove dentro me
Della solitudine in fondo
dimmi che ne sai
E di un'anima grande come il mondo
Dimmi che ne sai
Di un disperato in panne
Che fuma cento caffe'
Che danno solo le donne
Le donne come te
Ridammi il sole
che avevo dentro me
Ridammi il sole
che piove dentro me
Sei la gioia che ride
Mio Dio no
O la gioia che uccide
Non lo so.
Ridi pagliaccio
Di un cuore puro e in fiamme
e gonfio come un bigne'
che danno solo le donne
Di un disperato in panne
che fuma cento caffe'
che danno solo le donne
le donne come te
Little white house
It’s everything we dream about
We wanted you to know
I’m hanging up my e-go
We shouldn’t have to fight
Or worry about the bills tonight
I wanted you to know
I wanna be your shadow
Mystery’s gone
So bring back the sun
Oh bury this hate
Build it with love
The mystery’s gone
So bring back the sun
Oh bury this hate
Build it with love, ho oh
Little batter high
Grass wasn’t greener I found
Wanted you to know
Well I dug you up a rainbow
And I know
I know I failed you
And I hope
I hope we get through
Show me your hand again

It was a beautiful day with lots of hawks, falcons and owls to be seen. I did some more test shooting with the Sigma 60-600mm mounted on my E-M1 M2 with Kipon autofocus adapter. The sharpness at 600mm (1200mm) equiv is amazing. This was taken from my car with the camera mounted on a movo photo beanbag on my car windowsill.

My first time photographing the lighting of the fresnel lens at Pigeon Point. Tons of photographers were there, of course, and we were all treated to a killer sunset before the lighting. I struggled with taming the noise from my old E-1 in this shot. Couldn't quite defeat it. I probably should have brought my E-410, as it might have dealt with it a little better. At any rate, this is just after they lit it up, with a little glow from the twilight in the background.
I came across these caterpillars in Overloon Zoo Parc. Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to switch lenses, so I shot this with my E-500. The white balance had a hard time getting it right here, and I didn't shoot in RAW ......;-(
Next year, this will be beautiful butterflies.

A bit of Light Painting waftery using Hob's finely crafted LED LP tool.
It was pretty darn cold out there on the beach this evening, but it was still a great way to unwind after a long day in the office.
Every time I head towards Flathead Lake I always try and swing by this old Ford pickup truck and snap an image or two. So on way way home from my E-Session in Polson I shot a couple of weeks ago I had to stop once again for another couple of shots.... especially with the dark overcast skies looming in the background.

Heyhihello! :)
Back home for 3 days, woot! I don't have classes on fridays anymore, just like last year! :D My midterms are coming soon, and I need to catch up with my classes! School is totally crazy these days - the classes I take this year are so much harder than before! But I won't give up. :)
I checked my e-mails yesterday and I have great news to tell! Talenthouse wants to interview me! :D I got the questions that I'll reply in a bit, I'm going to send some photos of mine too! :)
I can't decide which ones though. :o
Oh and this. <3

Well....here's my first shot edited with my new CS4 and computer equipment.
No more waiting while photoshop completes tasks, this computer is FAST! CS4 is pretty cool too :)
And my e-mail problems seem to be fixed....I'm actually receiving them now :) I'm just wondering why I suffered for so long with my old beast. Life is easier with the right equipment!
