Yarrie Station is about 175k north east of Marble Bar, I'm not sure of the size, it is not large by NT stations a few hundred thousand acres however a beautiful cattle station.
Rich spinifex country with a number of operating gold mines on it.
The property has a few rivers running through it,the homestead is situated near the De Grey river the major river.
The annual muster is just starting and will continue until about September. I hope to return and catch some action shots from the yards a bit later on.
This is a mob being moved down to the yards a few k down the track.
This memorial stone is located on the lawn of the Natchez City Hall. It marks the spot were the men and boys gathered in April 1861 to enlist and go to war in service to the Southern Confederacy. Many never returned.

Come by the window Gillian said,
come by the window and we can watch a little while,
while the butterflies fly into a humming bird filled sky,
while elephants roar on the desert floor,
while the eagles nest upon a dolphins crest.
Oh your such a romantic bawled Isaac,
that it makes my heart drip and my toes twist and my eyes wander and my tummy flutter and still i can't muster just a word, just a note,
just a something for all this clutter.
But your right, there is a world of magic and folklore out there,
the so called "underground" in its entirety.
When you stand tall and grow above the rest, said Isaac,
you have the best view and the most weather.
Gillian sipped her rooibos tea, its colour a dark red,
red as the earth that lay out beyond the window,
out where she was staring,
searching,
dreaming of pastures green and gold with flowers and grass,
her lips tasting fresh milk.
Tea said Isaac, is the very source of growth.
An alkaline stomach, my mother use to say,
is the foundation of prosperity,
the fuel of life,
the fire of love.
It's the best i think when the weather clears, said Gillian,
or when it's just about to get worse,
like the evening cool-off in the desert
or a bout of morning rain.
It's as if God is telling you to breath, stretch,
to roll over and try the other side.
I was at the candy store the other day
and there was a boy sat on the steps emptying out dirt from his rolled up jeans,
being careful to make precise pyramid mounds of silty earth,
examining each grain as it fell and then grew.
I asked him what he thought of the world and he immediately blushed,
laughing till he just about cried,
which only got me to laughing and laughing and soon we were both in hysterics,
laughing and rolling around on the porch of the candy store,
and all the while two little mounds of dirt sat below us on the step,
pyramids of earth, each grain, taller than the next.
Then the wind blew.

A nostalgic scene of campfire smoke wafting over the landscape made the evening light on the encampment especially poignant.
