This was my 1st COMPLETED model using Tetrahedral Symmetry
(My Great -Rhombicosidodecahedron is still a work in progress.)
210- units : total of 20 tetrahedra ( Yellow points) seperated by Triangle Prisms.
3 x 3 paper folded using the white capped sonobe variant. It gives a nice contrasted look.
One major difference in this model is that Instead of inverting the peaks like Ardonik has done , I decided to assemble it with the peaks out, I like the look. Although it looks like a Spikey Polygon I like the way it turned out.
Since I used the smaller 3x3 paper the model is very stable. However, assembling this was difficult, there was not a lot of space to work the tight edges when connecting the tetrahedron. I am currently working on a larger scale version of this using the bigger paper size, the assembly is already easier, however there are trade-offs, the bigger the model in size the less structurally stable it is. Thats why I prefer the smaller paper when assembling a larger scale structure. This model took me about 2 weeks.
This is a good model to work on, the number of units and the ease of assembly make it a good starter for anyone who wants to build a polyhedra using Terahedral symmetry.
Once completed you can move on to a Great-rhombicosidodecahedron. the major difference is to replace the Tetrahedra with Triangle Cuppolae Triangular Cupola

La directora de Prosperidad Social, Tatyana Orozco de la Cruz, visitó Cúcuta y El Zulia en Norte de Santander donde hizo la entrega oficial de ocho obras que beneficiarán a la comunidad y permitirán continuar la labor de la Entidad en la lucha contra la erradicación de la pobreza multidimensional. Durante su visita, la Directora explicó las 5 claves +1 con las que Prosperidad Social trabajará en 2017 para lograr los planes establecidos en Norte de Santander.
"Con la entrega de estas obras, ratificamos nuestro compromiso con la población nortesantandereana. A través del Índice de Pobreza Multidimensional[1] hemos logrado identificar las mayores falencias en cada departamento y focalizar así nuestro trabajo durante 2017. En el caso de Norte de Santander lo haremos con la implementación de 5 claves +1" aseguró Tatyana Orozco, directora de Prosperidad Social.
En esta línea, la Directora describió las 5 claves + 1:
- Primera clave: Trabajo. Más de 2.800 personas se beneficiarán este año de los programas de generación de ingresos y, de hecho, durante 2016 cerca de 1.850 personas se vieron beneficiadas por cuenta de los programas de empleabilidad de la entidad tales como Mi Negocio y Empleo para la prosperidad. Todos estos esfuerzos apuntan a mitigar la brecha en materia de trabajo. De hecho, Cúcuta es la ciudad con más incentivos de Mi Negocio.
- Segunda clave: Educación. Más de 98 mil familias se beneficiarán de Más Familias en Acción, programa que incide positivamente en las condiciones educativas, de salud y de protección a la niñez y la juventud. Así mismo, más de 7 mil jóvenes del departamento se beneficiarán durante 2017 del programa Jóvenes en Acción que tiene como objetivo incentivar la educación de la población joven, en condición de pobreza y vulnerabilidad.
- Tercera clave: Vivienda. Se llevarán a cabo más de 6 mil mejoramientos de vivienda y se invertirán más de $42 mil millones de pesos en 50 proyectos de infraestructura social y de hábitat en el departamento.
- Cuarta clave: Salud. A través de Más Familias en Acción continuaremos incentivando y monitoreando la realización de controles médicos periódicos en los niños de las familias participantes del programa.
- Quinta clave: Niñez y juventud. La mayoría de nuestros programas busca llegar a los niños, adolescentes y jóvenes del departamento, es decir, tienen un enfoque especial en este segmento poblacional. Esto se une a la estrategia de Atención Integral a la Primera Infancia "De Cero a Siempre".
+1. Los programas de Prosperidad Social se ejecutan bajo parámetros y acuerdos de transparencia.
Entre los planes de la Entidad, además de trabajar bajo las dimensiones propuestas en el Índice de Pobreza Multidimensional, la clave estará en hacerlo bajo los estándares de transparencia. "En Prosperidad Social velamos porque todos nuestros proyectos y la ejecución de nuestros recursos sea comunicado de manera abierta a todos los ciudadanos, las autoridades y nuestros públicos de interés. Por esto, hemos compartido nuestros planes para 2017 en varios departamentos del país", concluyó Orozco.
Estas cinco claves ratifican el trabajo de la Entidad en la lucha contra la pobreza en el departamento donde tendremos una inversión total de $118 mil millones de pesos durante el 2017.

Commissioned to work with SALT Research collections, artist Refik Anadol employed machine learning algorithms to search and sort relations among 1,700,000 documents. Interactions of the multidimensional data found in the archives are, in turn, translated into an immersive media installation. Archive Dreaming, which is presented as part of The Uses of Art: Final Exhibition with the support of the Culture Programme of the European Union, is user-driven; however, when idle, the installation "dreams" of unexpected correlations among documents. The resulting high-dimensional data and interactions are translated into an architectural immersive space.
Shortly after receiving the commission, Anadol was a resident artist for Google's Artists and Machine Intelligence Program where he closely collaborated with Mike Tyka and explored cutting-edge developments in the field of machine intelligence in an environment that brings together artists and engineers. Developed during this residency, his intervention Archive Dreaming transforms the gallery space on floor -1 at SALT Galata into an all-encompassing environment that intertwines history with the contemporary, and challenges immutable concepts of the archive, while destabilizing archive-related questions with machine learning algorithms.
In this project, a temporary immersive architectural space is created as a canvas with light and data applied as materials. This radical effort to deconstruct the framework of an illusory space will transgress the normal boundaries of the viewing experience of a library and the conventional flat cinema projection screen, into a three dimensional kinetic and architectonic space of an archive visualized with machine learning algorithms. By training a neural network with images of 1,700,000 documents at SALT Research the main idea is to create an immersive installation with architectural intelligence to reframe memory, history and culture in museum perception for 21st century through the lens of machine intelligence.

Estará a cargo del Cisen, quien concentrará toda la información estratégica generada por las Fuerzas Armadas, la Policía Federal y la Procuraduría General de la República. Senegal has deployed an Air Force squadron to the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) since 2015. The unit helps improve security in the country by providing a tactical aviation unit to support ground troops in carrying out their protection of civilian tasks. The unit, which is composed of 100 peacekeepers, conducts daily air patrols and gathers information using advanced camera technology. Here, a Senegalese peacekeeper helps to maintain an attack helicopter in Bangui.

On 21 and 22 February, an Integrated Team serving with the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) travelled to the Mopti region in Mali to investigate recent armed attacks in the Bankass Cercle area, in which preliminary information indicated that at least 18 people were killed by shooting and burning. A large number of houses and granaries were deliberately burnt down as well and some animals were stolen or killed. The team, composed by Human Rights Officers and a forensic team of the United Nation Police (UNPOL), visited the settlements of Koulogon Peulh, Minima Maoude, a village that was entirely burn down, and Libe Peulh. Prosperidad Social entregó este viernes, en Ponedera, Atlántico, la primera obra terminada de la convocatoria 001 de 2020. Se trata de la pavimentación de vías en el municipio, para resolver deficiencias en el desplazamiento y en los drenajes, y mejorar el paisaje urbano y la calidad de vida en varios sectores, en los que habitan 1.638 personas.
La entrega estuvo a cargo del director (e) de la entidad, Pierre García Jacquier. La obra costó 1.347 millones de pesos, incluyendo la interventoría. Generó veinte empleos directos y ocho indirectos. “Estos proyectos de infraestructura social inciden en la reducción de la pobreza multidimensional. Junto con la gestión de oferta, los programas de empleabilidad y los programas de vivienda, que administramos, mejoramos las condiciones de acceso a servicios de salud, educación, protección de la infancia y vivienda para la población en situación de pobreza”, explicó García.
García estuvo este jueves y viernes en Atlántico, recorriendo obras financiadas por la entidad. El viernes encabezó el inicio de obras de pavimentación en Baranoa. Allí la entidad financia la pavimentación de vías en dos barrios. Beneficiará a 1.072 habitantes. Para eso invertirá 3.444 millones de pesos.
Prosperidad Social abrió la convocatoria 001 de 2020 para financiar y ejecutar proyectos de infraestructura social y productiva, que aportan a la superación de la pobreza. Recibió 1.833 iniciativas para revisión: proyectos de 866 municipios, en 31 departamentos. Dentro de esta convocatoria y por fuera de ella, la entidad ha suscrito 410 convenios y contratos interadministrativos, para la ejecución de 533 proyectos en 419 municipios.
Para su realización se contempla una inversión superior a 1,087 billones de pesos (1’087.794’424.569 pesos). De estos, 1,082 billones de pesos son aporte de Prosperidad Social y 5.345 millones de pesos son contrapartida de los entes territoriales. “Si sumamos esto al resto de proyectos que ejecutamos desde nuestra dirección de Infraestructura Social y Hábitat, la inversión llega a 2,54 billones de pesos, con los que financiamos obras que benefician a población en situación de pobreza, en 782 municipios de Colombia”, explicó García.
Recordó que la inversión en infraestructura impacta en la pobreza multidimensional, y que el incremento en las transferencias monetarias incide en la mitigación de pobreza por ingresos. “En Atlántico, como en todo el país, las transferencias fueron fundamentales para reducir la incidencia de la pobreza monetaria el año pasado. Durante el periodo del presidente Duque, los cinco programas de transferencias monetarias de la entidad han llegado a 533.935 titulares. Eran 178.257 titulares en 2018. Eso representa un incremento de 187,4 por ciento”, dijo.
Desde 2018, Prosperidad Social ha invertido 1,7 billones de pesos para acompañar a los hogares atlanticenses que participan en Familias en Acción, Jóvenes en Acción, Ingreso Solidario, Colombia Mayor y Devolución del IVA. Eso es el 57,6 por ciento de los 3,1 billones de pesos que el Gobierno nacional ha invertido en el departamento en los programas de transferencias, desde que se crearon para superar pobreza en Colombia.
Como ayudas institucionales, estos programas tuvieron un impacto positivo de 3,6 puntos porcentuales en la reducción de la pobreza en el departamento; y de 2,7 puntos porcentuales en la reducción de la pobreza extrema, según lo demostraron los últimos resultados presentados por el DANE.

The analysis of statistical data about cancer occurence is an essential task in epidemiology. It is considerable to identify risk factors in the early stage of occurrence. For this task the German Centre for Cancer Registry Data is collecting the cancer occurrence in Germany. The effort to collect cancer registry data is important to investigate shot-, mid- and long-term effects of cancer occurrence and the evaluation of health care policy measures targeting cancer prevention, early tumor detection, cancer treatment and care.
The challenge is that every cancer occurence must be analysed under different perspectives. Every occurence contains information about the age, gender, localization of the cancer (e.g. lung) and implication. Through this multidimensional view the visualization of cancer statistics must cover these properties simultaneously. The choice was to visualize the cancer occurence along these properties to allow the user a discovery process. If you have a massive data set it es necessary to recognize patterns or intersting relationships. The flow visualization helps you to identify cancer occurence of specific groups and to see the value distribution along the other properties.

El diálogo permanente entre entidades del sector, la fijación de compromisos institucionales, la adaptación al marco normativo colombiano del Índice de Pobreza Multidimensional (IPM) y la creación de instancias de articulación han permitido que Colombia sea un referente para la región en la implementación de este índice.
Así lo explicó el director encargado de Prosperidad Social, Nemesio Roys Garzón, durante su intervención en el panel de expertos que se realizó en el marco del seminario "Índice de pobreza multidimensional (IPM): su impacto en la política social", que tuvo lugar en la Universidad de los Andes, organizado por la Iniciativa de Pobreza y Desarrollo Humano de Oxford (OPHI), centro de investigación de la Universidad de Oxford.
"La medición del IPM Colombia en 2010 dio como resultado una incidencia del IPM del 30,4% a nivel nacional. A 2015, la proporción disminuyó a 20,2%", aseguró Roys Garzón.
El Director Encargado de Prosperidad Social, agregó que para implementar el IPM se tuvieron en cuenta diferentes aspectos como la revisión de las variables más utilizadas en otros indicadores, el marco normativo a partir de la Constitución Nacional, estudios sobre pobreza, los índices multidimensionales aplicados a Colombia (NBI, ICV, SISBEN III), los umbrales definidos por los Objetivos de Desarrollo del Milenio y la disponibilidad de información en una sola fuente estadística, es decir, la Encuestas de Calidad de Vida del DANE.
Desde que se adoptó el IPM como medida oficial en Colombia se crearon instancias de articulación como la Mesa para la reducción de la Pobreza, el Comité Ejecutivo de Directores, las mesas de trabajo asociadas al IPM y el Comité de expertos para la medición de pobreza. Como consecuencia de esto, se generaron alertas que llevaron al diseño de programas y estrategias para la población más necesitada. En el panel se destacó por ejemplo que en 2010, la Mesa de Pobreza generó alertas por las brechas entre pobres y no pobres multidimensionales en el logro educativo y el acceso a servicios para la primera infancia, lo cual llevó a la formulación de las estrategias de gratuidad escolar y de atención a la primera infancia "De Cero a Siempre".
"Posiblemente, el hito más importante en el proceso de implementación del IPM fue su incorporación en el Plan Nacional de Desarrollo 2014-2018, y la gran apropiación del Gobierno Nacional del lenguaje del IPM. De igual manera, la georreferenciación nos ha permitido mejorar la focalización de nuestros programas sociales, y dirigir la inversión a los lugares donde existen mayores privaciones", concluyó Roys Garzón.
En el panel de expertos que discutieron acerca de diferentes aspectos del IPM, estuvieron además Mauricio Perfetti, director general del DANE; el experto Roberto Angulo, representante OPHI y Luis Fernando Mejía, subdirector sectorial de Planeación Nacional. La moderación estuvo a cargo de Sabina Alkire, directora general OPHI.
El Seminario se adelantó en el marco del curso de verano que adelanta la iniciativa OPHI con funcionarios oficiales de 13 países de Centro América y Suramérica, para analizar el caso colombiano y revisar los indicadores de cada nación según su propia realidad y coyuntura. / Mar. 13, 2017. Commissioned to work with SALT Research collections, artist Refik Anadol employed machine learning algorithms to search and sort relations among 1,700,000 documents. Interactions of the multidimensional data found in the archives are, in turn, translated into an immersive media installation. Archive Dreaming, which is presented as part of The Uses of Art: Final Exhibition with the support of the Culture Programme of the European Union, is user-driven; however, when idle, the installation "dreams" of unexpected correlations among documents. The resulting high-dimensional data and interactions are translated into an architectural immersive space.
Shortly after receiving the commission, Anadol was a resident artist for Google's Artists and Machine Intelligence Program where he closely collaborated with Mike Tyka and explored cutting-edge developments in the field of machine intelligence in an environment that brings together artists and engineers. Developed during this residency, his intervention Archive Dreaming transforms the gallery space on floor -1 at SALT Galata into an all-encompassing environment that intertwines history with the contemporary, and challenges immutable concepts of the archive, while destabilizing archive-related questions with machine learning algorithms.
In this project, a temporary immersive architectural space is created as a canvas with light and data applied as materials. This radical effort to deconstruct the framework of an illusory space will transgress the normal boundaries of the viewing experience of a library and the conventional flat cinema projection screen, into a three dimensional kinetic and architectonic space of an archive visualized with machine learning algorithms. By training a neural network with images of 1,700,000 documents at SALT Research the main idea is to create an immersive installation with architectural intelligence to reframe memory, history and culture in museum perception for 21st century through the lens of machine intelligence.

USAID supports efforts to combat wildlife crime in Uganda. Owing to its multidimensional nature, wildlife crime is a global issue and a transnational threat. Failure to effectively combat it not only has implications on national security but also alienates the nation from its rich wildlife heritage, and prevents local communities achieving better standards of living.

41 militares da Força Aérea Portuguesa partiram no dia 12 de Janeiro de 2015 para o Mali, para integrarem a missão MINUSMA (United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Mission in Mali).
A cerimónia de partida teve lugar na Base Aérea N.º 6 (Montijo) e foi presidida pelo Chefe do Estado-Maior-General das Forças Armadas, General Artur Pina Monteiro, que fez questão de desejar sucesso aos militares da primeira missão Nacional fora do país em 2015. O Chefe do Estado-Maior da Força Aérea, General José António de Magalhães Araújo Pinheiro, também esteve na cerimónia e despediu-se pessoalmente de todos os seus homens.
A Força Nacional Destacada, composta por 47 elementos (41 da Força Aérea e seis do Exército), estará quatro meses neste país africano, sob a égide das Nações Unidas. O contingente é composto, para além dos militares, por uma aeronave C-295M da Esquadra 502 – “Elefantes”.

Prosperidad Social entregó este viernes, en Ponedera, Atlántico, la primera obra terminada de la convocatoria 001 de 2020. Se trata de la pavimentación de vías en el municipio, para resolver deficiencias en el desplazamiento y en los drenajes, y mejorar el paisaje urbano y la calidad de vida en varios sectores, en los que habitan 1.638 personas.
La entrega estuvo a cargo del director (e) de la entidad, Pierre García Jacquier. La obra costó 1.347 millones de pesos, incluyendo la interventoría. Generó veinte empleos directos y ocho indirectos. “Estos proyectos de infraestructura social inciden en la reducción de la pobreza multidimensional. Junto con la gestión de oferta, los programas de empleabilidad y los programas de vivienda, que administramos, mejoramos las condiciones de acceso a servicios de salud, educación, protección de la infancia y vivienda para la población en situación de pobreza”, explicó García.
García estuvo este jueves y viernes en Atlántico, recorriendo obras financiadas por la entidad. El viernes encabezó el inicio de obras de pavimentación en Baranoa. Allí la entidad financia la pavimentación de vías en dos barrios. Beneficiará a 1.072 habitantes. Para eso invertirá 3.444 millones de pesos.
Prosperidad Social abrió la convocatoria 001 de 2020 para financiar y ejecutar proyectos de infraestructura social y productiva, que aportan a la superación de la pobreza. Recibió 1.833 iniciativas para revisión: proyectos de 866 municipios, en 31 departamentos. Dentro de esta convocatoria y por fuera de ella, la entidad ha suscrito 410 convenios y contratos interadministrativos, para la ejecución de 533 proyectos en 419 municipios.
Para su realización se contempla una inversión superior a 1,087 billones de pesos (1’087.794’424.569 pesos). De estos, 1,082 billones de pesos son aporte de Prosperidad Social y 5.345 millones de pesos son contrapartida de los entes territoriales. “Si sumamos esto al resto de proyectos que ejecutamos desde nuestra dirección de Infraestructura Social y Hábitat, la inversión llega a 2,54 billones de pesos, con los que financiamos obras que benefician a población en situación de pobreza, en 782 municipios de Colombia”, explicó García.
Recordó que la inversión en infraestructura impacta en la pobreza multidimensional, y que el incremento en las transferencias monetarias incide en la mitigación de pobreza por ingresos. “En Atlántico, como en todo el país, las transferencias fueron fundamentales para reducir la incidencia de la pobreza monetaria el año pasado. Durante el periodo del presidente Duque, los cinco programas de transferencias monetarias de la entidad han llegado a 533.935 titulares. Eran 178.257 titulares en 2018. Eso representa un incremento de 187,4 por ciento”, dijo.
Desde 2018, Prosperidad Social ha invertido 1,7 billones de pesos para acompañar a los hogares atlanticenses que participan en Familias en Acción, Jóvenes en Acción, Ingreso Solidario, Colombia Mayor y Devolución del IVA. Eso es el 57,6 por ciento de los 3,1 billones de pesos que el Gobierno nacional ha invertido en el departamento en los programas de transferencias, desde que se crearon para superar pobreza en Colombia.
Como ayudas institucionales, estos programas tuvieron un impacto positivo de 3,6 puntos porcentuales en la reducción de la pobreza en el departamento; y de 2,7 puntos porcentuales en la reducción de la pobreza extrema, según lo demostraron los últimos resultados presentados por el DANE.
