They love each other. And for some reason when they're in the mudroom they actually pay attention to us.

I am changing this side too. I am trying to "pull" the room together. I wasn't settled with how I had before, so I am still working on tweaking it and bring my fave little vintage things from around the house.

This door is on a screened porch....our favorite room in the house during summer months. These tiles are actually quite small, perhaps 3/4" square, mounted directly on window glass, clear Lexell silicone adhesive....no grout used.

It’ll really put the wargle in your burgle bargle. (As I understand it all of this has been rightly trashed.)

Notice that in this mudroom we carried the legs of the bench all the way to the tile instead of terminating into a wood base. The advantage to this approach is that muddy footwear lives on the tile as it dries.

a selective view that just happened to, at the moment, seem slightly and unusually cheery in the indirect bright sunshine.

 

what you don't see: the hodgepodge of shoes & boots of all seasons strewn on the floor, the pile of dirty rags by the door waiting to go over to the laundry room at the shop, the empty beer bottles waiting to be refilled in the brewing room, and the open cabinets on the opposite side of the 'room' stuffed to the gills with more coats, sweaters, blankets, camping, backpacking, fishing, and hunting gear.

Mister B noticed this little chickadee standing in our mudroom; B just growled a little and kept going inside; the bird didn't flinch; my husband put on his gloves, picked him/her up, I took a few photos, and went to an area to set him free. He hesitated for a moment, and then flew off.

Some of the mudrooms we build are pretty fancy and others quite spare. This falls into the latter category. When our client has a limited budget we suggest scaling back certain areas.

This is a mudroom for a family of six in Edina. It never looks this clean.
