How I wish I had a real camera and circular polarizing filter, but I had to make due with my phone to capture this wonderful sight.

Mt. Hood is the highest point in Oregon, not so much a mountain as an active volcano and the crown jewel of the Columbia River Gorge, an area seemingly designed by the gods of outdoor recreation.

MT Taranaki through Te Rewa Rewa Bridge

Mt. Rushmore, South Dakota. Another place I visited as a kid. It wasn't the same at all this time. The faces and the mountain didnt change, I did. I highly recommend going to see this again in your older years if you did as a youth. Learn the history of the area...it's pretty interesting. Also look up the "Hall of Records" here on a search. Did you know theres a stairway and room behind the heads?

The sun is once again shining on the north side of Mt Currie. Spring is coming...

Maine

Overlooking the town of Bar Harbor and small islands in Atlantic Ocean below- all shrouded in fog. This is where the first light appears each morning in the US. Pilgrimages to the top of Cadillac to witness sunrise are seldom disappointing!

I am headed home to Maine for a family visit and some photography. Hopefully there will be nice weather for shooting! I will be spending several days here on Mt Desert Island and I'm sure I will drive up for sunrise one of the mornings, weather permitting!

See you in September!

Mt St. Helens is the first volcano I have seen. Visited there twice. It erupted in 1980 and still an active volcano. Visuallizing its eruption is scary but as a visitor it is exciting. I had to make a quick shot through window as we are about to land and Air-hostess would have given me warning.

I could not take Mt. Hood arial picture which is one of the favorite one for me. I have ground shot of it here. www.flickr.com/photos/chandamama/283354855/
