PT-98 slows on the approach to the siding adjacent to Horizon Milling in Mount Pocono. The crew will pick up a large cut of empty grain cars before proceeding east to Slateford Junction. While the thermometer said "summer" on this unusually warm day, the blazing red maple is a clear sign of autumn.

Mt. Shasta as viewed from the north. Mt. Shasta is about 14, 163 feet. This mountain towers over Northern California and can be viewed from most of the northern Sacramento Valley. This view of the north slope can only be seen from north of the mountain. Mt. Shasta is a dormant volcano if there is such a thing. It last erupted in 1786 although there is tectonic activity in the area. At the foot of the North Slope is US Route 97 which connects Weed, California to Klamath Falls, Oregon. Mt. Shasta is near the Southern end of the Cascade Range which is at Mt. Lassen in Lassen Volcanic National Park. Geologists believe that the Cascades end at California’s Lake Almanor or more specifically on the North Fork of the Feather River. Where the Cascades end California’s Sierra Nevada range begins.

Mount Robson is the most prominent mountain in North America's Rocky Mountain range; it is also the highest point in the Canadian Rockies. The mountain is located entirely within Mount Robson Provincial Park of British Columbia, and is part of the Rainbow Range. Mount Robson is the second highest peak entirely in British Columbia, behind Mount Waddington in the Coast Range. The south face of Mount Robson is clearly visible from the Yellowhead Highway (Highway 16), and is commonly photographed along this route.
Mount Robson was likely named after Colin Robertson, who worked for both the North West Company and the Hudson’s Bay Company at various times in the early 19th century, though there was confusion over the name as many assumed it to have been named for John Robson, an early premier of British Columbia. The Texqakallt, a Secwepemc people and the earliest inhabitants of the area, call it Yuh-hai-has-kun, The Mountain of the Spiral Road.[4] Other unofficial names include Cloud Cap Mountain."

Mt. Lákmos (aka Mt. Peristéri) is a 18-km long (and 12-km wide) massif that connects the Northern Pindus range of mountains to the Central Pindus; it raises as a kind of gigantic wall between the Epirus and Thessaly regions. The peaks of Lakmos mountain that are visible from right to left on this shot are the folowing:
—Kalógiros (aka Kalóghēros 2,102 or 2,092 m, cloud-laden on this shot)
—Giannáki (aka Ghiannákē 2,184 or 2,164 m)
—Tsoukaréla (2,294 or 2,275 m, the highest peak)
—Mégas Trápos NW (2,240 or 2,228 m)
—Mégas Trápos SE (2,212 m)
—Stakókola (2,045 or 2,023 m)
Nepali name: Kumbhkaran Lungur is part of the Great Himalaya Range.
Elevation: 8,586 m (28,169 ft) - third highest mountain peak in the world lies partly in Nepal and partly in the Indian state of Sikkim. The Kanchenjunga massif is in the form of a gigantic cross, the arms of which extend north, south, east, and west.
The name Kanchenjunga is derived from four words of Tibetan origin, usually rendered Kang-chen-dzo-nga or Yang-chhen-dzö-nga and interpreted in Sikkim as the “Five Treasuries of the Great Snow.” The mountain holds an important place in the mythology and religious ritual of the local inhabitants, and its slopes were no doubt familiar to herdsmen and traders for centuries before a rough survey of it was made.
In 1955 a British expedition led by Charles Evans, under the auspices of the Royal Geographical Society and the Alpine Club (London), stopped within a few yards of the actual summit in deference to the religious beliefs and wishes of the Sikkimese. This is reported to be the first successful attempt to the summit.

I'm so happy to be able to participate in and contribute to the upcoming centennial celebration of the historic iconic Moulton barns of Jackson Hole's days of yesteryear, one that's forever established as part of Wyoming's old west. What will the celebration include you ask ? Well, for one, the Moulton family will be gathering in Grand Teton National Park. There will be an art show where many will have their photographs taken over the years displayed and auction in an effort to raise additional funds to help restore these priceless, historic barns.
Will you be in Jackson Hole for the centennial celebration of the Moulton Barns this July? Do you you have photos you'd like to have entered into the art show dedicated to this celebration ? Should you submit a photo print, canvas print, etc., according to my Moulton Barn facebook contact, it does not have to be just of the Moulton Barns; it can be any photo taken throughout Jackson Hole, WY.

Well, it's time I posted another shot from the Tetons of Jackson Hole, WY for you.
A good number of you will be joining me this year for the first of two three day sunrise to sunset Jackson Hole spring photo shoot adventures one week apart.
Of all the locations around Leigh Lake, this site offers so many different excellent comps of Mt Moran over 100 yards or so, all with interesting foreground objects.
And guess what, those of you who are joining me, I'll be taking you here so don't forget to bring your river shoes ... or booties as I've seen some called. You should be wearing shorts of course if you want to get these kinds of comps where you have to get out in the water just a little bit .. but it's well worth it.
This exact site was not in my first ebook "Jackson Hole, WY - A Photographer's Shooting Guide" but I have included it in ebook "2" of the same name. This way if you can't make my JH photo shoot you'll still be able to easily do a short hike to this site if you pick up ebook 2.
